Biggest reason to learn Rails is Happiness. After SPAs, Rails feels like a Therapy.

What bring me to ruby and rails is the convention and the thinking to simplify web dev tasks, never been this good, especially with expert like you, so solo devs like me can understand and growing

RoR is my bread butter and it keeps getting better and better. Hotwire is so sweet that makes any other alternative look silly.

Yeah i completely agree, especially with Rails 7 featuring Hotwire, it gives you another choice for building SPA's.

The only problem with Rails now is having too small community.

This causes lack of good documentation, tutorials. Libraries are just old, and not evolving enough to adapting changes. For example: payment integration libs, only good with Stripe, other payment vendor like Paypal is just too bad.

The best part about Ruby on Rails is that when I build something for a client, he’s better off staying with me because it is hard to find RoR devs. It’s my craftsmanship.

Far from dead... The company i work for makes 2.5mill a year and uses Ruby on rails.

RoR is not dead for sure. I am gonna blame the community and companies for asking only ninja levels positions for ROR. And thats the main reason that rails is losing points from my POV... No new entries... the circle stays the same even decrease but never will be larger than it is. You can watch a thousands of tutorials setup hundreds of home projects, but the true learning and developing starts when you land a job. I got rejected from one ROR position for my lack of knowledge of kubernetes lol.

JavaScript is the way to go.
3d app, games, desktop app, mobile app, backend, apps on smart TVs all of these can be written in a single language that's JavaScript.
