Saying no to Ruby closes door to startups from the 2000s that are now unicorns or well established company. I love to see it when people say they would never work with this "dead" language, thats less competition for me. Ruby is not a bad language to work with. Its a small community but a good community of folks. Some of the best meetups I've been in were Ruby focused.

Ruby on rails is the secret weapon for the StartUps. Do you want to start a project, release and maintenance fast and easy?

If I'm building an app like a web crawler or a chat bot, chances are I'm going to imbed a ruby interpreter for doing scripty data stuff during runtime

Crystal is modern day ruby and it’s what I ended up turning to, though I will always remember ruby as it was one of the first languages I caught onto pretty quickly.

Ruby on Rails is awesome framework, you can do whatever you want with this framework, and you can achieve a lot of feature with less code comparing with other languages

People and companies care about solved problems. They don't care about what language you use to solve it. If you solve frustrating problem with Ruby (and Rails) so be it. You can build a startup and turn it into successful business entirely in Ruby if the application is solving frustrating problem.

Im fond of Ruby.. i am a Lua user.. and a Turbowarp user (thats technically just JS... i know i know.. there is ruby and JS developers hating on eachother... but i just dont care.. I'd rather bash python all day and night for being the most selfish language and community (fallows languages down dark ally ways beating them up for new libraries and frameworks to steal)... and dont even get me started on the framed comparisons of the liers making python look faster and better then a compiled language... python is a bad language with a bad community... Lua should it been #1 as it is a far superior language (yes... Lua and Python users hate eachother... also.. i know you python users are jealous our language is better) )
