How did Heavy stop the train in End of the Line?

I was re-watching some of the official Team Fortress 2 SFM videos when I came across a particular scene in the community-driven update SFM known as "End of the Line". Towards the end of the video, Heavy manages to stop, or at the very least, hinder the runaway BLU train's progress as it speeds towards the RED base. I got to thinking though, how much weight did Heavy have to exactly stop? As a railfan, I knew this would be an opportune time to try to figure it out. In this video, I compare the locomotive and freight cars in the End of the Line SFM to their real life counterparts, and calculate the approximate weight of the train that Heavy had to stop.

Music Used:
Sonic Heroes - Ocean Palace
A Hat in Time - Oh Its You
Super Mario Odyssey - New Donk City Daytime
Deltarune - Vs Lancer
Doki Doki Literature Club Plus - Lets Teamwork

if my calculations were correct, and if the train was doing roughly 90 MPH, heavy would need to have exerted around ~1, 223, 516, 800 newtons of force to stop the train. for comparison, the average person can only exert 1, 000 newtons of force. dont mess with the heavy.

The most amazing thing is that if it’s just plain Uber, it doesn’t make you stronger, it simply makes you bullet proof

I remember when End of the Line came out, and I had a few misgivings to it. But I do remember seeing the short and I acutally quite liked it, especially that part.

This one scene remained as the most iconic scene of End of The Line and it still does. It is one of the most iconic scenes in video game archives.

Fun fact: Uber charge doesn’t make you stronger, it just makes you invincible, so heavy was literally strong enough to stop a train 💀

Heavy is an icon in gaming, and this is just one of his many feats

Short answer: it’s the heavy, he can do anything you know

It's because heavy says: "Sandvich make me STRONG!"

When I rewatched the SFM, I saw the engine as it appeared in the animation had a four wheeled bogey in the front and two four wheeled bogies in the back

Now to calculate whether Heavy is stronger than Mr. Incredible, who was shown in the first film to be able to lift a diesel locomotive that looks like an ALCO PA (153 short tons) but has the side paneling of of an EMD F7 (123 short tons plus 1, 700 pounds; I'd go with the prior estimate though), as well as pull a train at running speed (cannot guess the speed of the train too well, but I assume it was 10-20 mph)

I’m only ever going to measure things with the soldier now

say, u do realize the engine itself in the sfm film had this weird axle arrangement of 3 sets of bogies, 1 at the front where the cab was and 2 pair set at the back, like the back part of the loco was stretched/lengthened to have this sorta hybrid of a DDA40X truck arrangement, just with 2 GP style axles/trucks instead of a single 8 wheel bogie

Good. Now we need to know if Heavy is stronger than Will Smith and Tobey Maguire.

That's one heavy train that Heavy stopped. I guess you should never underestimate the power of the Sandvich.
