Now this is a genuine scientist. His mind appears completely open to any possibility and he simply follows the evidence where it leads. He doesn't appear to have an agenda. If only all scientists were like this.

If the laws were there prior to the creation of the universe then it logically follows that there had to be a law giver.

So, The Kalam Cosmological argument would posit that there must be an unmoved mover.
1. Whatever begins to exist has a cause;
2. The universe began to exist;
3. Therefore: The universe has a cause.
GOD ? The unmoved mover who acted in continuity with his own laws which we even now continue to discover.

It is puzzling that if there were no matter, energy, time or space that a universe could explode into being from nothingness even if the laws of physics were or were not in effect. What is the basis of 0= everything ? Which law of physics creates matter and energy? If so, why don't we see this happening today?

Doctor  Vilenkin thank you. I am not going through an existential crisis anymore. The only thing I am concerned about is how two branches of science can contradict each other...How can this be?

There are two ultimate worldviews at the end of the day;
Either the universe is the uncaused first cause or Something outside the universe is the uncaused first cause. All the evidence shows the universe had a beginning. If space, time and matter had a beginning, then the cause can't be made out of space, time and matter. In other words, the cause must be spaceless, timeless and immaterial. And if you're timeless, do you have a beginning? No! A Timeless, spaceless and immaterial being is the uncaused First Cause. For many centuries atheists had no problem of believing in an eternal universe, they never had a problem questioning that, but now suddenly they have a problem of an eternal being. As Vilenkin says ''With the proof now in place, cosmologists can no longer hide behind the possibility of a past-eternal universe. There is no escape: they have to face the problem of a cosmic beginning.”

Correct me if i’m wrong but according to Lawrence Krauss, the universe should be flat in order to the gravitional force and other positive forces to balance each other so that the total amount of energy of the universe can be absolute zero. Thus, the universe can be created out of nothing
