He totally distorts the question of "why is there something rather than nothing". His "nothing" is spacetime. The question is why is there spacetime rather than no spacetime.

The nothing he talks about is actually something. There’s space, time, quantum fields, and vacuum energy. Those are things that are well defined in physics. To call it nothing, just because we humans don’t perceive anything in it, is so not helpful for the sake of the conversation.

Absolute NOTHING means no matter, no space, no time, no quantum fields, no universes, and no laws whatsoever. Now tell me what could possibly come out of that NOTHING.

‘Nothing’ means exactly that: nothing!
If voids contain ‘bubbling virtual particles’ then they aren’t true voids. If you’re going to update the physics, you’ve got to update the definitions. By the widely accepted definitions, something cannot emerge from nothing.

If it has weight then it isn't NOTHING. If it is boiling with particles then it isn't empty.

Let's define 'Nothing' first. Nothing is the absence of anything and that would mean, no particles, waves even potential or a will. Once you say nothing is 'full of stuff', then that's NOT nothing. So I guess the question stands, Can something come out of nothing?

According to my wallet, nothing remains nothing, so I'll stick with that

By definition nothing is nothing. If the void of space is full of stuff thats something.

Nonsense. Even if empty space is a brew of particles, you still have to answer where did the particles come from?

What physicists mean when they say "nothing" is different from what common people think "nothing" is. We don't have any examples of the type of "nothing" that people are referring to in the comments anywhere in the Universe; therefore, we cannot make any assertions for that sort of "nothing."

I don't get why people say nothing can come from nothing. Nothingness implies there are no physical laws whatsoever, so there's nothing that stops something spontaneously come into existence.
It's not common sense, but it makes all the sense

Can there ever truly be nothing?
If you take a given volume of space can you theoretically remove every single scrap of quantum particle from this space?

Science still requires logical consistency. A nothing that has weight is a something. There is still a difference between existence and non-existence. You still can’t have A = Not A

Nothing + Nothing = Nothing

and for us to exist, time should start. If it is forever, then this moment will never exist.

So basically the universe started. and 0 + 0 = 0
the universe is not a 0. So somthing that sould not be bound by time should created it. And that "somthing" should have a will, because "random" is just word that means "i don't know how".

if "somthing" is not bound by time, and have a will. Then we are talking about a deity. We call it "God".

Richard and Krauss : we have discovered that nothing in space is not the same thing as nothing in the philosophical sense because here nothing has weight .

Orangutans in the comments : ooo oo he can't understand how something came from nothing oo oo
