Sir Patrick Stewart and Jeri Ryan talk to BBC Radio 1's film critic Ali Plumb about new Star Trek series Picard where they return as Captain Jean-Luc Picard and Seven of Nine. Plus the joys meeting fans in costume, the perils of wearing spandex and what it's like to become a meme 🤦‍♂️

Jeri Ryan has the best laugh ever. Such a cool and enjoyable interview

The catsuit in my opinion makes Jeri Ryan's achievement even more amazing - Seven of nine started off as fan service. And then she evolved into such a deep character!

Lol at Patrick Stewart being like "Ah yes the memes I've heard of those."

It hurts my soul when I think about how old Sir Patrick Stewart is. I dread the day that we lose him.

This guy has the perfect combination of British humility and knowing what he's talking about. He doesn't zing the guest ever and makes everyone feel comfortable. And...he lets them answer the question. Like being interviewed by your favorite child.

For as bad as the first three seasons of Voyager is, Seven of Nine really did something that changed that show. There were a lot of great episodes after she came on board and Seven + the EMH doctor are two of the greatest characters all time in Star Trek.

You can tell that they both enjoyed that interview. A lot of times you can tell when an actor or any celebrity doesn't like the interview, but in this case, it's obvious that they really enjoyed the exchange.

7of9 was probably my favourite star trek character ever: strong silent type, trouble understanding ppl but inherently good, zero bs (absolutely loved that), and when she did show some affection, it was the most moving genuine thing on the show. Also, of course, she was/is out of this world hot.. that's it, need to rewatch it all again! :D

I actually had a nice conversation with Sir Stewart when I worked for Citibank. His name came up on my line, and I said, is this the Captain Picard. He replied, I have been know to play this character. While I solved his banking concern, we chatted about travel, life, and acting. Once done, I said, enjoy your day. He said, thank you, and hung up.

I met Jeri Ryan at Comicon Toronto. To this day she is the coolest person I’ve ever gotten an autograph from.

Jeri Ryan still looking as fine today as she did in the 90s, she could probably still get away with the catsuits. Also quite funny that Stewart has clearly never watched a minute of Voyager.

Jeri just seems like a super lovely and bubbly person.

That must have been one of the best kinds of chemistry I ever had the pleasure witnessing between interviewer and interviewee. Lovely! They are class acts - all 3!

Jeri’s reaction of disbelief that Sir Patrick didn’t know she wore a catsuit is a scream 😂
