Kurtzman Trek can't even keep stick to its own canon!

"Replicant DNA" FFS these people are trying to thematically tie Blade Runner: a dark, dystopian future, with Star Trek: an optimistic utopian future. I miss when Star Trek felt like Star Trek.

In the real trek timeline, androids can look human and the Romulan Empire wasn't wiped out by a supernova.

Besides, iirc the real achievement of Soong was the positronic brain, not a human looking android.

What about Lal and Data's mother as well? Let's not forget about the many different human-looking androids that appeared in TOS as well.

One episode in and Star TP is already a dumpster fire.

Any attempt by the writers to write Star Trek Discovery out of canon is good to me!

What about the androids in "I, Mudd"?

Short answer is yes, long answer is still yes.

They forgot all Muds replicas in some kinda futuristic Indiana Jones warehouse :D. They escaped and rebelled so Muds and Lore are ones to blame for attack on Mars

Has all entertainment nowdays somehow become plagued by writers with extreme short term memory loss?

Why would they think they could not make them look human? Did the federation ban makeup at some point?

The original TNG actors really must need to make money to participate in this show.

It is however possible to make a synthetic look fully Romulan, as Data proved in the episode Unification.

Plus, the androids (puppets?) from the Shore Leave planet, which anyone can visit.

And fully-realistic holograms. Which are at least a 30+ year old technology, by this point. The last twenty or so years of which we haven't been privy to see what advances might have been made in them, or their portable projection. (Even if a matchbook-sized "Mobile Emitter" is still impossible, in TNG, we saw a con artist use a holo projection on herself..._from a ship in orbit, while she was standing on the surface of a planet._)

Or (to give the devil, I mean the STD writers, their due) you could easily use a computer to puppet a clone body (which are not impossible to get). Or a brain-dead cadaver. Or some poor schmuck with their brain removed or bypassed. A couple of those scenarios have, indeed, actually happened, in episodes going as far back as the 1960s.

STD needs to be forgotten. Deleted from the time line. Eradicated from all existence. It is an insult to Star Trek.

For the new Star Trek show runners, continuity is just something that happens to other people.

Did they film this show on a camcorder?

There was also the Julianna Android who was virtually indistinguishable from a Human being.

Forgetting STD will only work in Picard show favor

Hmm. Maybe she was talking about their work at the Daystrom Institute. After all, we HAVE had Roger Corby and this example to counter her statement, but those were separate from Daystrom.
