Thanks for the help. Seemed kinda silly to me there's no tutorial for this (or anything for that matter) in the game. Especially frustrating considering there's quest lines that depend on your ability to pick a lock.

This completely didn't help. I'm adjusting my pick in VERY small increments around the area i know is close and it never opens. I saved the game immediately before trying to pick the lock but it appears that save-scumming doesn't work. It's always random.

When you move the lockpick without pressing, there is NEVER a spot with no sound. I tried that now on 5 locks and its always a "rustling" sound. Maybe that changed ober the years, but this video really does not help much.

This is just garbage tip, all your other tips were useful, not this one tho. They need to fix lock picking, impossible to hear anything on different types of earphones and headphones, can hear it on my earphones but not on headphones when I have surround sound on.

I have a theory, most game reviewers/play throughers make such a big deal out of lock picking in almost every game because they turn the game volume way down so they're less distracted during their analyses or what I like to refer to as : Blah, blah I blah-blah.
