I have the same dishwasher. What do you do if it comes on but does not start any of the wash cycles?

Thank you for making this video, it was almost exactly the same problem as mine. The little metal plate's plastic nub that keeps it straight to push on the switches had apparently gotten to hot to many times and melted sideways, causing the plate to be diagonal and not ever coming in contact with the switches. My wife now thinks I am some sort of genius, I will use this momentum to convince her I need more tools to fix things. lol

Where can I buy this in Canada? I have an older GE dishwasher, but there is no visible sign anywhere as to the model. I found something similar online, but my part says 3/4 HP and not 1/2 HP will this make a difference?
