Hello, had bought the 2.5 and will now test run the engine. Is the gear oil almost in the gear?

I ordered the 5hp on eBay and keeping my fingers crossed that it's not a turd. There isn't a very clear explanation on break in period either. Is there anything to know there?

Yep still cant get this started. Read the manual cover to cover twice and watched every video I could find even the German guys. No dice. I’m in South Florida where there are obviously no dealers and I only got this motor cause it was a bundle with Bote. What can I do? This is my first motor. The only experience I have with them are small rental Mercury’s out in the Everglades that start up every time. What am I missing?
