Two climate activists glued their hands to the frame of a Vincent van Gogh painting at an art gallery in London.

As an environmental activist....these types aren't true activists. Their prop hands for movements. I knew them in the 1990s. Gluing hands to a portrait holds ZERO VALUE to the cause, shows their intelligence in the matter or period, and is a mockery to those that take this seriously. If you ask them, they really think this is being serious and involved. I'm sorry, but if this is all they can bring to the table, then their entire movement is a joke. This coming from an activist WHO THEN WENT INTO INDUSTRY to actually learn both sides, in order to ACTUALLY BE BENEFICIAL.

It seems obvious to me that their actions are intended to provoke outrage and media response.

They glued their hands to the frame, not the painting. And it's a very nice looking frame, too, but the painting itself should be fine.

But the idea that the world can "Just stop oil", well... That's bold. And consequences of abrupt disuse of fossil fuels and non-renewables would likely have a huge effect on the economy. I hardly need to be educated on the subject to realize that 99% of goods, globally, are transported using fossil fuels.

The food shortages would be dire.
We do not presently have the resources to replace fossil fuels within even a margin of efficiency.
