Climate activists glue themselves to Hamburg airport runway

Members of the Last Generation climate group disrupted a number of flights across Germany, after breaking into Hamburg and Düsseldorf airports.

Activists glued themselves to the runway in Hamburg, causing several flight cancellations for travellers on the first day of Germany's school holidays. The group accused the government of lacking a strategy to tackle the climate crisis and called for immediate measures to cut emissions in the transport sector.
