Have you been on antidepressant medication for years? Are you wondering if you still need to be on them? In this video You are going to some of the most common reasons that you may think about talking to your doctor about getting off of them.

Too often I find that patients get on antidepressants and stay on them unnecessarily. Find out if any of these reasons apply to you.

There are a lot of ways that you can treat your depression. Medication definitely isn't and shouldn't be the only thing you reach for, but for many it ends up being necessary. Here are some reasons that you can take to your doctor to see if it is right for you.

To see if you may be suffering signs of depression you can learn more about it here:

If you are experiencing these symptoms you need to seek help from a professional. Go see your doctor and get an accurate diagnosis to figure out a good treatment plan for you. Remember depression and anxiety are real medical conditions and should be treated just as diabetes or high blood pressure need to be treated. You shouldn’t feel any different treating any one of these medical conditions

Great video. Thank you! I was in a place where my life was stabilized and I was doing well so I went off them. Surprisingly, some of the old problems like fears of driving didn’t return, though some other issues did. Good reminder that even when you are on SSRIs, you STILL need to put in the work to overcome things causing you anxiety and depression. Right in the middle of tapering off them, I had several majorly traumatic events occur and now I’m thinking I might need to go on them again. Lots of love to those dealing with this! ❤

Thank you so much. I thought I was ready to go off my antidepressant but your words helped me see it isn’t quite time for me yet. I wish my doctor would have taken the time to explain this to me. So glad I found this channel! Subscribed!

im currently taking effexor 75mg. previously was on 150mg and before that Lexapro. i just had this thought of stopping for the first time since taking meds for 3.5 years now. i hate how just forgetting to take one pill makes me have a significantly worse day. now, i’m in a place in life where i don’t have much stress as before. and i feel i have mentally matured a lot in the last 3 years (now being 26) however, i go through huge waves of depression still despite maintaining the same dose. my healthy routines die off. my energy levels plummet. usually taking weeks or even months to bounce back. i think im ready to move on

Should a doctor decided to give an SSRI or do alternatives have to be offered so the patient can decide ?

I’ve been on citolophram for 10 years. You have to titrate off for many months if not you will have terrible vertigo and other withdrawal symptoms. I was off for 6 months and I started feeling short of breathe -like I could not take a full breathe. Long story short, it was anxiety and I had to get back on my antidepressant. If you have a chemical imbalance that doesn’t just go away.

I have suffered from bouts of severe depression all my life. I've been on 20 mg. of Ciprelex for 8 years. In January of 2020, I weaned off over a four month period. I'm now 4 months off & I'm in Severe depression & Anxiety. I'm wondering how I would know if I have relapsed, or if this could be a withdrawal symptom? How can I tell?

I want to try to consult a doctor. But I don't want my parents to worry. I just feel that i needed help but also I'm afraid that my family will also suffer if they know about me. Its just me versus my thoughts. And it's pretty hard. In order not to cause any worries, I just keep it myself.

Respected sir,
I have been on sertraline 100mg od since 20 years. I didn't consult any doctor once I was okay with sertraline 100mg plus clonazepam 0.5 bd. I was afraid to stop these as my dreaded anxiery and panic symptoms may recure.
Now also I get less intensive anxiery symptoms and take clonazepam sos basis.
I am in fear that this antidepressant might have harmed my system as I consumed this for 20years.
I feel hard to taper my clonazepam dose also.
Kindly help me by advice.
