Thats not really that amazing of course it's going to turn on it runs off mains power not battery so there's no battery in it that would degrade and go bad stopping it from turning it on.

Just like any old tv from that time will power on most likely possible the catharay tube may have gone bad and the pictures gone albad but the TV would most likely still turn on.
