I'm Leaving The Church of England!

I'm leaving the Church of England, not just yet, but I cannot see how to stay with integrity in the years to come!

As an Anglican Franciscan, I have real concern that our Church no longer preaches the concept of sin. With that concept gone, everything becomes 'acceptable'.

I know exactly where you are! I spent 15 years as an Anglican priest in Canada with an evangelistic heart to reach people with the message of the Gospel. I am passionate about the love of Christ for his creatures, and to my dismay I witnessed the Canadian church slide down the slope of cultural conformity. I decided I could not stay and be faithfulto God. I resigned my allegiance to the Anglican bishops and was confirmed in the Catholic Church in the fall of 2019. I am in the process of being ordained as priest. God has called me to this place, where I never would have imagined I would be. Praised be to God for his wondrous mercy. I am now where I feel at home. I pray for you and for your church. May you find peace and a clear direction for where you are called. May you be blessed this Lenten and Easter season.

I don't know you but as a RC living in Ireland I believe we are all going through a spiritual chastisement. The church is being cleansed; the wheat from the chaff. Faith is in Christ. Cling to him.

Come and join us in the Wesleyan Reform Union, Dan! It's traditional, and completely rooted in scripture. We don't stand on ceremony and there's little "rite", and we have some great hymns, including of course some of the ones that all Christian denominations have loved for years! But whatever you do and wherever you go, may God bless you always.

Dear Reverend Dan, my husband and I left the Episcopal Church here in the US in 2003. So horrid was the leadership. We never looked back, really. I have returned to the Roman Church, and my husband is non-denominational with Catholic leanings. We do miss the worship & hymnody of the Episcopal Church, but we could no longer tolerate the church's dissention into sin. Going forth, you and those you hold dear will be in my prayers. Stay strong! All shall be well! You are a good, faithful servant to Christ our Lord!

I walked out of the C of E and monastic training 38 years ago, when this issue was being birthed. I was challenged and reproved for speaking against this and upholding the Word of God. It was very clear to me back then, that I must leave…

I attended Mass ( Catholic ) whilst my family and I were on holidays. Afterwards whilst standing around talking to other members of the congregation, the priest approached us, after some time two young children came up and spoke to the priest saying " Dad, mum wants to know where you put the car keys" I looked at the children and then at the priest, obviously with a look of astonishment on my face. The priest burst out laughing and explained that he had been a Church of England priest and then converted to Catholicism. The Archbishop of the diocese had permitted him to continue as a priest ( shortened course at the seminary ). I have since heard of several other married priests who had converted to the Catholic faith. That said I really enjoy your program.

I left the CoFE about two months ago, I was Christmated in the Eastern Orthodox Church. It’s full throttle gospel!

Very sad situation to find yourself in. I hope and pray a solution can be found. As a Roman Catholic there are still people faithful to Christ and his message.

Unfortunately this ideology is being pushed on the church everywhere! What courage it takes to stay true to the Gospel! We can take comfort from all the Saints and Martyrs of history that had to stand up to heresy throughout the centuries. Teaching the love and mercy of Our Lord is paramount to all people even when the message is hard to hear! God Bless you, may the Lord strengthen and comfort you as you stand up to this truth!
