What a wonderful video! This was a great idea. You've described my thoughts from Sense and Sensibility here perfectly. I might have put Elizabeth and Darcy closer to number 1, but I respect your opinion and understand how you've explained it.

By the way, I totally agree with you, I couldn’t have exposed all those marriages better. 👍

Bookish, to me you've analyzed these marriages like a brother for whom no one could ever be good enough for his sister. 😀

I agree with your ranking completely and even though I adore the couple in Persuasion, I think they would not be so happy if they married after their first engagement. She would not be able to resist her family’s negativeness about him because she would be young and naive. And he would not be able to stand them in terms of ranking. And of course we would not have the novel and the letter ❤️

Funny that I don’t see Mr Knightley like that. He’s my favourite hero! Next time I read Emma I’m going to underline all the reasons why. 😀

Although I'd thought about the marriages, I hadn't thought about the age differences--very good points. I'm wondering if that's why Anne & Capt Wentworth are such a good match--they were in love when young and they seem to be the closest in age, besides Elinor & Edward Ferrars. And I'll go out on a limb and disagree with you on Elinor and Edward--I think they'll fall into a very comfortable partnership. She'll run stuff (with a kind and gentle heart), and he'll be so pleased not to be harassed, and be able to devote himself to his flock.

I completely agree with you on all marriage assessments! Persuasion is my favorite too. (And it is Jane Austen’s fault for naming two characters such similar names!)

Or maybe the best marriage is that Emma Thompson found love with Greg Wise (Willowby) while filming S and S at a low point in her life. 🥰💙

Now I need to know where Jane and Bingley would rank! 😄

I too repeatedly think of Edmund as Edward. Maybe because I think of them both as the worst heroes. I dislike them a lot.

Your analysis is skewed by Western 21st century biases, , its ridiculous.
Its amusing that you really believe that the Western 21st centeury perspective is valid and applicable to all ages and circumstances ' Grooming'....
