Yay! I’m so glad you love Emma! I hear so many people who don’t like it but it’s definitely in my top 3.

I'm going to look forward to rereading Emma! Was great to hear your thoughts on it :)

1. Persuasion (took me getting to Anne's age--and seeing the 2007 movie--to really love it so much)
2. Sense and Sensibility--(I was Eleanor as a teen first hearing the story, and my sister was Marianne, so obviously...)
3. Emma/Pride and Prejudice (my mom read both of these to my siblings and me and so I knew them first, and I identified with Lizzie but maybe a little more so with Jane and even Mary, and I loved Mr. Knightley so much but in a couple ways Emma just annoyed me, I was into Jane Fairfax more)
4. Mansfield Park (I know exactly what it's like to be Fanny, for better and for worse)
5. Northanger Abbey (has grown on a me a bit, but I've never read it all the way through and I don't know that I ever would)

Persuasion is my favorite Austen - I love it so much! I just finished rereading Emma and really loved it! I love the characters, the plot, and the relationship between Emma and Mr. Knightley. "If I loved you less I might be able to talk about it more."

I just finished Emma! I’ll have to read the rest of Jane Austen’s works to figure out where she ranks on my list. It’s definitely very funny!

Just found your channel, and subscribed! Love that your channel includes classics which are my main picks I gravitate to read most times...and I am currently re-reading Jane Austen’s novels that I had read in my teens, now 30, I wanted to re-visit one of my first loves that introduced me to classics so long ago, which was Austen’s works, still have to read Sense & Sensibility and Mansfield Park for the first time, plus her unfinished work, currently I have re-read “P & P”, laughed, smiled and enjoyed in a new level I hadn’t when I was younger, and currently re-reading “Emma” falling in love all over again

The more I read Emma, the more it moves up my favourite list. So far, it reaches N°2, but later, who knows ? (And I agree, Knightley - sorry, Mr Knightley - is the best !)

Northanger Abbey or P&P, becasue they are the most humorous of the bunch. I love Austen's humor, so the funnier the better for me. The guy out of them all that I'd marry is Mr. Tilney.

Lady Susan is part of her completed works, its just that its a novella instead of a novel. Love and friendship is also a short fiction. Sanditon and The watsons were part of her incomplete works.

My ranking is:
6. Northanger Abbey
5. Mansfield Park
4. Sense and Sensibility
3. Emma
2. Pride and Prejudice.
1. Persuasion

I love Anne, I think she is so strong. I admired the way she thinks of ways to be helpful to those around her (even though I am not sure they deserve it). Plus - Captain Frederick Wentworth. And the letter, like you said. So good. Maybe I will revisit Northanger Abbey and Mansfield Park.

I admire you for ranking these books - I don't know if I can! I love that you give an honorable mention to Sanditon. I love that story and am so sad that Austen never finished it. I have a copy of the finished Sanditon by A Lady. It was published in 1974. Is that the same as yours. I really like the story and think the author did a good job of finishing it.

I really need to read more Jane Austin. I have only read Pride and Prejudice and I adored it. I wanted to read Emma or Sensibility next. Great video!❤❤❤

I loved this video!! I agree...Mr. Knightly all the way. Do you, by any chance, have any favorite Austen movie adaptations??

A lot of jane Austen books I listened to first. I think that affected by experience. I love northhanger abby. But probably p and p, Emma and Mansfield park are my top ones. The main characters and all the other characters. And then sense and sensibility and I also like persuasion. I guess I just live all of the differently depending on my mood lol

Can you recommend Austen for a newbie? Preferably, something with little to no romance stuff. I can't stand that. But I've never once heard a bad thing said about her writing. I feel like I've been missing out my entire life!

I had the same experience with Northanger Abbey. So much better upon re-read.
