Why is there no Silicone rubber anti-drainback valve on the Subaru (Fram O.E.) filter though there is on Honda (Fram O.E.) service filters? This is especially warranted for unaided cold starts in colder regions of Canada. Why not just import the high-er quality Tokyo-Roki filters for service parts? Also in the video, Why didn't the tech carefully clean the filter mounting boss of debris before installing the filter?

From someone who has worked in the car industry oil filters and such are normally from a supplier who simply puts a brand name mark on the filters and such! Otherwise it simply it's the same as none OEM ones. It's the part number that's important!

The blue is made by Fram, almost identical to Fram Tough Guard. Rather low quality and the reason why I have used the black subaru filters from japan; however, after research I will be using wix xp filters once I run out of subaru filters because the inside of wix is much better construction.

the blue filters are fram, use the black tokyo roki or wix or purolator if you dont want cardboard in your oil passages like happans in so many gm cars and

I thought they blue one IS made by FRAM, and the black one was only available in Japan... obviously aside from ordering online.

The blue filter looks like it’s made by fram. Completely cheap and junk! Wish you could use wix or Puralator as the manufacturing of the filters

The blue Subaru filter is supposed to be junk
