Subaru filter is made by Fram, vs K&N oil filter

Comparison of the factory USA made blue filter, (not the black JDM filter) and a basic fram and k&n filter.

It’s the “Plastisol” under the fiber end caps that actually seal the ends on the Fram filter media. The stuff is very durable. This nonsense that Fram filters ruins engines that is all over the internet truly is a load of crap. If you change Fram filters when you are supposed to or sooner, they are perfectly fine. Fram cannot make and mass produce filters that destroy engines. They would be getting sued every damn day.

Fram's endcaps are fiber not cardboard. Fram has not used cardboard since Honeywell sold the brand in 2011.

I don't think machinery knows the difference. It's the owner of the machine that falls for marketing and packaging labels, and has money burning a hole in his pocket. I've used every oil filter out there INCLUDING FRAM on my F-150 5.4 3 valve. The engine people swear is the worst one Ford built. I have almost 300k on it. If your oil looks dark or smells like gas, or you have any doubt's CHANGE IT!!

Wrong Fram does not make the Subaru oil filter it is Fuji Heavy Industries that makes all the oil filters for subaru and by the way Fuji Heavy industries owns Subaru.

I used to use FRAM, then I did some research and found out they're junk. These days I'd only ever use NAPA, Wix, (same company), or K&N.

You are better off getting Walmart's Super Tech oil filter which is still under $3 (5th gen Outback 2.4 filter #ST6607).

I try not to use Fram oil filters. I know they leave a lot to be desired. I just bought a 2021 Dodge Ram 5.7L Bighorn. I love it. I will see to it that it never sees a Fram oil filter. I saw another review about a year ago, and the Walmart SuperTech oil filters were rated better than Fram!! 🤨 Makes you
