Subaru: Describing the problem with Top Mounted oil filters.

preview_player
Показать описание
Subaru top mounted oil filters drain out of oil after each shutdown. Baxter Performance USA provides unique engine oil system solutions. Due to the use of cartridge
style oil filters used in many vehicles and the inherent deficiencies associated with these oil
systems, Baxter Performance has the answer to provide improvement in reducing dry start and
providing rapid oil pressure.
Most engine wear occurs at startup and some cartridge oil filters as well as some spin-on oil filter
systems simply do not employ an anti-drain back valve or other designs to keep the oil filter flooded
or to retain more oil post filtration in the engine, this results in delayed oil delivery and pressure at
startup. Baxter Performance patented and patent pending adapter designs directly address these

I thought that all OEM Subaru Oil Filters come with silicone anti-drain back valve keeping oil in the filter?

So this "check valve" is basically flexible enough for the the pump to pressure oil through but tough enough to stop stationary oil to pass under gravity? because the flow direction and anti-flow direction is the same in this case. A regular check valve is useless. so the more important question is how much is this special check valve impeding the regular flow of the engine oil? I want to know because I'm also tired of priming the FB engine with 2 cranks cycles.

I put one on my Jeep. for about 3 days it holds oil after that you get the old rattle back when startin. It's not as long . But it's there.

Will this work for a Toyota GR86 and do you deliver to the UK

I thought those oil filters had anti backflow diaphragms in them

Actually absolutely wrong and selling snake oil. My 2021 Subaru Ascent oil filter has a drain back valve, also I have looked into it and without draining the oil I removed the oil filter and the filter housing was full of oil, selling solutions to a non existing problems.

Who's going to put compressed air to the filter make it a button that pumps like a bike pump

I don't have a compressor ; will a bike pump work too? How does it do in colder temps? How low of a temperature has your adapter been tested to? I'm guess oil weight/viscosity has no affect on performance.

How about BMW E36 and further inline 6 cylinder, they have also top mounted Filter housings with cartridge
May this a good Option for these

Or you can hold the gas to the floor and it will prime the system lol

Nice, selling an unnecessary product, by spreading incorrect information.

Lots of "maybes" in this video. I believe a top of engine mounted oil filter is more desirable so it can be easily changed without making a mess. If there was scientific data that suggested this was bad for the engine then, a. why would manufacturers do it, and b. why isn't there any scientific data being discussed in this video or others? Simple, there isn't any. F putting oil filters with threads up. That's just stupid. Conspiracy theorists believe that manufacturers put oil filters in difficult and messy places so owners will take their car to the dealer...because they know best how to change oil. Wonder how many people have been scammed by dealers to perform additional services that aren't warranted. Hmmm...not saying all are bad be there are enough bad ones out there that it has caused people to be suspicious.
