The 7 day diet, love it or hate it? Cabbage soup is a part of many different diet plans and has a zillion different names. I use it with the 7 day diet. I've been loving it so far and this diet never fails to give me my 10 pound weight loss in 7 days. One thing I love about this Wonder Soup is that you can eat as much of it as you like. I'm all for a diet that lets me eat like a field beast whenever I want to.

Lose 10lbs in a week is an understatement I have congestive heart failure and I ate this soup no lie five days and lost 14lbs Everytime I go to sit and watch TV I was running back to the bathroom my insides was so clean Mr. Clean would be surprised

I like to add beans for protein! And you still lose weight! Along with hiit and intermittent fasting! Lots of water too!

I see it like this a lot of people say this is a crash diet but that is becUase you are doing it wrong if you do this "diet" as you guys call it and lose 10 pounds but then after the diet change how you eat meaning healthy eating your not going to gain the weight back it's like starting fresh but if you do this diet for a week lose the 10 pounds and go back to your unhealthy eating of course your gonna gain all the weight back

I made this for the first time last night. I used fire roasted canned tomatoes and added cilantro. It was surprisingly delicious. Given it's a detox soup, I was expecting a very bland soup, but it turned out to be amazing. Not on that, but I definitely felt it working less than 8 hrs later....TMI I know, sorry. But seriously, for someone that has digestive issues as myself, this is exceptionally better than any laxative you could find.... trust

This works, followed the diet for 6 days and lost 7 and a half pounds.Thank you for the recipe diva.3 weeks later I am still losing weight and following a healthy balanced diet.

Let me tell you, My weight was SHREDDING while I was on intermittent fasting
(not on purpose, I had 4am-1:30pm shifts, and didn’t eat until I got home around 2:30)
And I ate this about twice a day
AND by drinking the detox type of juice(pineapple, cucumber, lemon, ginger)
I work as a pastry cook so work is my exercise, I power walk for 8 hours which I think was a beneficial factor too why I was losing weight so dang fast. Everything contributed for a quicker result :)

I just purchased all the ingredients in this woman use and it came out to be just under $20. This recipe is in very cost efficient for those who are on a budget. I'm a 16 year old female, who works at McDonalds making minimum wages. If this recipe is affordable enough for a minimum wage worker then you bet it is a fantastic recipe!

My grandmother used to make this. The only difference was she put in a can of bean sprouts. She called it free soup because you could have it any time you felt hungry on a diet. It works. Sometimes I use chicken bouillon instead of broth. Tastes great. Thanks for uploading, I had forgotten most of the recipe.

Day 1- Eat nothing but fruit today (except for bananas) and as much of the diet cabbage soup as you’d like. I like to eat baked cinnamon apples in the morning, a large fruit salad and cabbage soup for lunch, and cabbage soup and a melon salad for dinner. I snack on fruit throughout the day, usually frozen berries, grapes and watermelon.
Day 2- Eat nothing but vegetables (except corn or other starchy veggies). However, you do get to start the day with a baked potato. You will LOVE having this baked potato trust me! I never thought I’d be so happy to eat a baked potato in the morning! I put a tad bit of salt and butter (I cheat) on the potato along with some broccoli and tomatoes. For lunch I do the cabbage soup and salad sprinkle with salt, pepper and olive oil. This is actually pretty good. For dinner I do mashed cauliflower topped with a stir fry.
Day 3- Today you eat fruits AND veggies (except bananas, corn and other starchy veggies) You also don’t get a potato today, sucks! I just do a repeat of day one and two for my foods.
Day 4- Today you eat only bananas and milk/yogurt. This is the DUMBEST day by far. I hate it. You can only have bananas and milk. I eat bananas, rice milk, almond milk and yogurts and of course the miracle soup. It’s not that difficult, but if you hate bananas I feel sorry for you boo.
Day 5- Today eat only tomatoes (6-8) and protein like fish, turkey and chicken. I had no problems with this day since I love meat and was happy to get it! I had wonder soup for breakfast and added extra tomatoes since I don’t like tomatoes plain that much. For lunch I had grilled chicken topped with tomatoes seasoned with salt, basil, pepper. For dinner I had more wonder soup, but I add ground seasoned turkey to it. Very filling. I got tired of the soup on this day.
Day 6- Today it’s protein and veggies- Unlike yesterday you can have other veggies besides tomatoes. I had a salad for breakfast seasoned with olive oil, spices, salt and pepper. For lunch I had a stir-fry with chicken, spices and veggies (so good) for lunch I had a spaghetti squash with pasta sauce and ground turkey. I think spaghetti squash is off limits but I had to have it! (it didn’t effect my weight loss) Today was so yummy! lol
Day 7- Today it’s just fruits, vegetables, and juices. Booo!!! I hated this day because I wanted more meat, but I was glad it was the last day. The scale says I’m 7 pounds lighter this morning so that was great to see. I feel clean inside. I’m hungry today
Day 8- 10 lbs down

You know what else works? Eating broth based soup. It doesn't have to be cabbage. I lost 40 pounds to get to 9% body fat on soups (plus a protein shake after working out). But seriously, I'd just start off with water + salt + pepper + onion+ garlic + meat (chick, beef, or pork). I'd slow cook that meat in the water until it was falling apart. About 2-3 hours before it was done, I would drop in a bunch of mixed veggies and a cut up potato. Easy to make and would last me about 2 days.

Weight dropped fast, and I was making sure it was a balanced broth soup. Slow cooking that meat in the water gives you a broth. I know it's not the conventional bone broth, but it's pretty damn good still. I would eat a big bowl, wait 15 minutes, and if I was still hungry I'd eat half a bowl. It took me about 2 months to drop those 40 pounds, which isn't bad considering I didn't have a TON of weight to lose (since it got me to single digit bodyfat, and I'm already 6'5 to begin with.)

Also, you can pretty much eat when you're hungry because a big bowl is maybe 300 calories. So....like it is easy to combat hunger. Also the variety helps so much, I literally could make so many combinations of fruit (different mixed veggies, different meats, etc).

yep it does! I've had the best luck with this diet, the green smoothie diet and the 17 day diet.

I always use this soup to kickstart my diet because starting diet (which is a lifestyle change) is easier mentally when you see you’re losing some weight already. My tips as a former chef and nutritionist is you can do twist for flavors with the same concept for example:


- Add some shrimp/white fish/tofu/chicken breast as protein to balanceout your daily requirement of macro and micro nutrient. Make sure you don’t lose concentration / pass out at work 😅

Flavor variation through the soup base without changing the cabbage soup concept: goulash base, tom yum soup base, or japanese curry (onion, apple, curry powder), miso soup base

-Change one or two type of veggies except the cabbage such as

You can really play around with the recipe. This helps to not get bored and quit 😊 for the whole week eating the same flavor is just not easy for some people.

Just made this like an hour ago it was amazing and on top of me being sick it was much needed!!!! But the reason I'm doing this is for weight loss I just need to lose like a good 20 pounds and I'll be set!! And after I'm done with this diet I will be changing my eating habits all around and working out to maintain my weight!!

I tried this last April and I lost so much weight from 110 to 97 lbs but I always felt tired n hungry so when I stopped the diet, it rlly backfired on me because I want to eat all the things I couldn't eat n so I gained the weight back. So self control is what will keep ur results clear

I hit a weight loss plateau. This soup pushed me through it! I made this soup and the weight I couldn't lose came off! It is surprisingly good too! I love the red pepper flakes. It was just the right touch. Thank you for sharing!
