This was such a fun video, and I loved the mini haul at the end too! The UK Pike books, oh my gosh!! I never see those for sale in the states, so it’s awesome that they had some. Good luck on all your reading goals this year! :)

Good luck with your 22 books. The Troop and Brother are such great books. Boy's Life is one of my favorites. These are all great books you have coming up.

I really liked the Troop! Can't wait for you to read that one and hear your thoughts on it!

I’ve read a few of these. The Troop is fun and gross, The Cartoonist is fun from what I remember (read it years ago) and The Wasp Factory is amazing. They actually teach it at school over here now. Great book.
As for The Girl Next Door, don’t underestimate his horrific it is. It really very troubling.
I have a copy of The Amulet and really want to read it, but it has pages with missing 😂

I was wanting to read the Wasp Factory! And that old skool film cover is so cool!

Terrific video! I always love to see what you are reading. I also want to read The Troop. I enjoyed Video Night, so I wouldn’t mind reading Clowns in the Cornfield. It makes me happy to see you reading the Fear Park series. 🤗 I was excited I could finish your collection. Yes, Yes….yes yes! 🤣 I definitely want to read more Grady Hendrix. Horrorstor has such a cool cover. Love your new horror book guide. I can’t wait to check it out when I come visit later in the month.

That's a nice stack of books to sink into this year! I'd never be able to handle The Girl Next Door but I like hearing other people's thoughts on it. And Bone Saw sounds great too- I've heard some good things about that one too!

Thank You, after hearing you talk about 150 Exquisite Horror Books: Essential Guide to the Best 150 Books of Contemporary Horror Fiction, I had to go and pick up my own copy. Looking forward to going through it.

So many cool books in this video, but it was especially great to discover that Grady Hendrix lists _Beloved_ as one of the best horror books since 1986. Toni Morrison is one of my favorite authors, and even though _Beloved_ is much, much more than just a horror novel, the story does center around a family living in a haunted house, and it contains many horrific moments and supernatural elements (I won't say more, because I wouldn't want to spoil anything). It's one of the best books I've ever read, period. Really powerful, heartbreaking, and unforgettable. So, anyways, it was cool to see it mentioned in this context, because it seems like most people tend not to think of it from that perspective.

Loved the troop. You definitely need to mentally prepare for the Girl Next Door… really disturbing, especially knowing it’s based on a true story. Wolfbane looks wild! I saw someone else talk about the Cartoonist and plan to get that one… that’s one of those books that I would pick up for the cover alone. Nice UK books… I’ve been known to splurge for UK versions here and there… I don’t know why the UK covers always seem to be nicer. Great list!

Love this list. I am definitely looking to explore some Christopher Pike.

Be in a good headspace when you start 'The Girl Next Door' that book messed me UP. The Auctioneer was my favourite read of last year! WHOA! You got the Black Christmas book by Thomas Altman, read that one last year and it was amazing! I enjoyed Horrorstor, hope you enjoy it as well. Great video as always!

This was a great video! I really enjoyed seeing what you have picked out to read this year. I have such similar taste so I’ll most likely be reading some of the same stuff! Also, I’ve never seen UK Christopher Pike books before! Those are super cool! Although, I do like the US editions better :)

Some great choices here! I’ve only read Brother and Boys Life but I enjoyed them both. Boys Life is pretty amazing. I’ve got Wasp Factory sitting in my shelf, let me know if you’re down a buddy read some time! (no pressure of course) I think you’re going to have an awesome reading year with all these books!

So many great choices! Some of these I have read and really enjoyed so I hope you enjoy them too :) Moonbane looks insane! Curious to hear what you think of The Keepsake...I have a copy of that but haven't read it yet. Oh and I'm hoping to read Book of the Damned sometime this year too so if you want to buddy read it let me know (no worries if not but if you do give me a shout!) I love both the US and the UK Pike covers. They're so different from each other but equally cool. I remember seeing the ones with the holographic text in the bookstore when I was younger!

Looks like a fun year ahead. I've read a few of those on your list.
Grady Hendryx is one of those authors most everyone likes but can't seem to agree on about which of his books are the best or worse--with the exception of "Paperbacks from Hell" which is pretty much universally acknowledged as GREAT. Personally, I enjoyed Horrorstor immensely (considering it one of his best), but I've heard some people inexplicably didn't like it. Strange.
I think you'll enjoy "The Stitchers" --a very engaging new YA series!
The Auctioneer was a serious-themed book which read like something from literature class. A finely crafted story, horrific, but not really what I would consider horror genre. A very slow read, considered DNF, but kept at it. I eventually found the ending was satisfying. One of those novels that leave you thinking about things, for sure.
I also want to read some more Christopher Pike this year. Thanks for reminding me. Plus, there's tons of other genres I'm reading in too (eclectic as heck). It'll be fun!

I've never read the girl next door but I did see the movie adaptation and it stuck with me I couldn't imagine the book

Love the Christopher Pike pickups!

Have you seen An American Crime? It’s a movie about the same story Girl Next Door is based off of. It stars Elliot Page (Ellen Page). Ugh, it’s so sad 😭
