For anyone interested in reading A Little Life please please PLEASE look up the trigger warnings because there are MANY!
It’s definitely not one to recommend unless you’re mentally stable and capable of reading it as it contains everything from sexual abuse to torture and loss so please do your research before you decide to pick it up 🙏🏽🥺😣

I will never stop screeching about how amazing Black Sun was to me. That book snatched my wig off in the middle of the street during rush hour traffic and I couldn’t even be mad. And honestly, Rebecca Roanhorse can just have the wig. She deserves it.

I’m hoping to read most of these as well as A Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers, Jade Fire Gold by June CL Tan, The Love Songs of W.E.B. Du Bois by Honorée Jeffers, The Rage of Dragons by Evan Winter, The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon, and Monday’s Not Coming by Tiffany D Jackson.

YES Circe!! I saw last year everyone loved song of Achilles - but Song of Achilles was 3.5⭐️ for me and Circe was a 5⭐️ — it’s so good 😭

A Little Life has such amazing writing but it’s definitely hard to get through because of the content but i definitely think it’s one of the best books I’ve read in a while

I really recommend the audiobook for Circe, the voice actress is so good, such a smooth voice. The whole Green Bone saga is fucking amazing! By far my favorite fantasy series that I read last year, the last book broke my heart.

Raybearer is SO GOOD. There’s some twists and turns I wasn’t expecting, and the world building is beautiful. Reading the sequel now and loving it

Omg City of Brass! I stopped reading it a hundred pages in as well and then picked it up again almost a year later because I set my goal last year to finish all the books that I’ve started. It’s so much better later in the book. Please continue because I think you’ll love it. The second book is also a lot better and it’s such a page turner. I’m reading the third book now, so epic!! I love the culture and the world so much I don’t want it to end.

I had a similar experience with City of Brass but it turned out to be a really unique, intriguing fantasy. I loved the first two books and am planning to read the third one soon! Instructions for Dancing was my first romance in a long time and it was so good!

So many of these are on my TBR too! I read Circe and Dial A For Aunties last year and LOVED both! I found Dial A For Aunties to be such a fun summer travel book and had the best time with it. And Circe was just so unique and wonderful. Enjoy!!❤️

I keep seeing booktubers and bookstagramers talk about Circe and The Song of Achilles so I'm hoping to read both of those in 2022!

Would you ever consider creating a video about how to film a book review? My high school students will be doing a “Book Talk” assignment soon, and I’ve been thinking about showing them some clips from my favorite Booktubers.

The City of Brass, Circe, and A Little Life are all on my tbr for 2022. I'm really excited for 2022, and am looking forward to all of the books that I'm going to read this year. Great video - as always - Jananie! 🥰❤

Yesss I really hope you read City of Brass!! It's the best adult fantasy I've ever read! I The first time I read the book Ali's chapters didn't grip me either until midway, but on my rereads they're my favorite. So profound and so politically juicy/heavy. Black Sun is high on my list for this year!

Serapio!!! Black sun was so fun! And the setting was just freaking amazing! So nice to read a high fantasy that doesn’t feel like Merlin about to pop up at any moment!
