So glad you're doing Revival and 11.22.63, as I think you're going to love both.

Just started Broken Earth trilogy, and definitely will finish in early 22, love it so far. For standalones, I plan to read and listen at the same time to Priory of the Orange Tree...the narrator seems fantastic and havnt tried immersion reading yet. I want to learn more about the Roman empire in 22, so SPQR is on the list. You have also convinced me on Ella Minnow Pea. And...of course...Hunger of the Gods 🐺

I do find it so funny how when a thing becomes popular Allen avoids it like the plague

Great list! I want to finish up some series in 2022. I have The Bear and the Nightingale series to finish, The Realm of the Elderlings series to finish ( I have 4 books to go!) City of Brass series to finish. I'm also working my way through all of the Womans Prize for Fiction winners (26) . I'm about halfway through that project so would like to wrap that up in 2022. Incidentally, Piranesi was the winner of that prize this year so I'll be reading that too!!
Also, I love it when I see people at the beginning of their Juliet Marrillier journey!! You are in for such a treat!! She has written SO many good books! Son of The Shadows is one of my absolute favourites!!!!

I'll read Revival and Piranesi with you!!
I've heard REALLY good things about both of these books.

I'll read Tigana and Piranesi with you! Piranesi will be a reread for me but I loved it!

Empire of Pain sounds fascinating! I may try to plan Tigana around the time you read it and share thoughts with you. I’m in the minority for loving 11/22/63!! 🧡 It was one of my favorite reads of last year. There was a moment when I wondered if the story was “meandering, ” but when I paused and thought about it, I concluded that every part in that book had a purpose. I wouldn’t have cut anything. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts!

I'm planning on starting the Dark Tower series by S. King next year, super excited for it.

Wow Sarah, that’s a great list! I need to get to Piranesi this year too. I also want to read those Stephen Fry books, but I think I’ll do it on audiobook. He narrates them too. 😁

Tigana, Snow Crash, 11/22/63, Revival, Piranesi, and Born a Crime are all amazing. I’m also planning to finish off Green Bone Saga early in 2022.

Lovely list, I hope you will enjoy all of these! I've also been putting off Tigana, so maybe I will join you and finally get the damn book read, lol. And I also wasn't as in love with the Greenbone Saga as everyone else seemed to be, but Jade Legacy completely sold me and it is now one of my all-time favourite finales. I even like the first two books more now that I have finished the entire trilogy, such a good overall story! Good luck with getting to all of these books ;)

I haven't read anything by GGK either and plan to change that in 2022! We can do this! 😄 The Bird King has a beautiful cover. I'm going to look it up now because I'm intrigued. It feels like a dark fairytale based on the cover.

I hope you'll love Son of the Shadows and Piranesi! To be honest I think that both are just Sarah-books so I'm confident you will.

Adding books to the ever-expanding wishlist, yay! 🤗
I read Tigana this year and it's definitely not the type of book for me: it's way too slow and uneventful for me to care however beautiful the prose is (kinda like Hobb!)
I found Kings of the Wyld absolutely hilarious and although the sequel did not quite live up to my expectations I'm looking forward to the next installment!
For next year I'm going to prioritise a couple of series that I've had my eyes on for a while now: Greatcoats, Green Bone Saga and the Age of Madness. 🙂

Omg I NEED to reread Snow Crash! I read it a super long time ago and remember liking it, but I don't actually remember any of the content itself lol plus I'm a different person now so curious to see how my taste has evolved whether I will like more or less

Lol You just reminded me that I actually have owned a hardcover for Revival for years and am still yet to crack that sucker open XD lol King is not may favorite novelist (although he is one of my favorite short story writers lol) so I don't know when I will have the urge to pick it up but I'll get to it one day :3

The only Stephen Fry book that I've ever read is The Ode Less Travelled. It's nonfiction, and in my honest opinion should be required reading in all English classes. Seriously, I did not know how to appreciate poetry before I read that book omg I have had a lot of great teachers in my life but none of them ever taught me how to understand the craft of writing a poem half as well as that single book by Fry did

Lovely War by Julie Berry does NOT sound like something that I'd normally be interested because it's got my anti-buzzwords lol "YA", yuck and "romance", double yuck lmao but like, that is counterbalanced by the fact that it has my actual buzzwords, lol "Greek myth inspired/retelling", sign me up, and WWI, shut up and take my money XD the thing that tips the scales for me and caused me to decide to read it is the fact that the audiobook seems to have a full cast production rather than a single narrator and I've discovered this year that I really enjoy full cast audiobooks :D

Thank you Sarah for another awesome video <3

Hello Sarah, great list and a lot I've not heard of before.
I'm prioritising The big Russian classic authors next year so Tolstoy, Doestevsky, Chekov etc. I have 12 of those.
I will also be reading Apeirogan by Colum McCann and Killing Commendatore by Haruki Murakami.
I have at least 2 Stephen King books I want to read, Different Seasons and Revival.
Bruce Springsteen's biography Born to Run and a few fantasy books I didn't get to this year such as Dreams of the Dying by Nicolas Lietzau, The Longprice quartet by Daniel Abraham and The Hand of the Sun King by J. T. Greathouse.
I am of course eagerly awaiting the new John Gwynne book in April. 🤓

Hollow Kingdom seems pretty interesting. I got it in the travel book swap I did recently and really need to get to it soon myself.

I really enjoyed Born a Crime. His Mama is - incredible. ♥️ I don’t think I have any priorities. I do have books I’m looking forward to, but I just read whatever whenever. Finishing up my first Jemisin duology and will finish queen’s thief series next week. But 2022 is wide open! 🤗

I love "My brilliant friend", it's an epic, Italian family drama but also a Bildungsroman (education novel?).
