I totally understand what you mean about reading dark/serious/sad books. They really move me, but I don’t want to be in that head space right now. I’ve been trying to find happier books and shows to watch.

Project Hail Mary is an amazing book! Loved it so much. I suggest listening to the audiobook. Where The Crawdads Sing is also a great book. House in the Cerulean Sea is the best book ever written and the Murderbot series is one of the most entertaining series I have ever read!

Project Hail Mary was my favorite book of 2021—you’ll love it! You have to listen to it on audiobook, it’s THE best audiobook ever with a phenomenal narrator and a special element to the story better heard than read. I listened to it twice last year!

And The Passengers was my #3 of 2021 and my new favorite thriller! Also great on audiobook.

And OMG, The House in the Cerulean Sea was my #2 of 2021! I can’t believe you haven’t read it! One of the sweetest, most feel-good books ever. As a mom you will especially love it.

I unexpectedly loved Thursday Murder Club! The characters are the stronger suit and they're very lovable.

I'm definetely going to be reading Project Hail Mary as well as The Thursday Murder Club to which the sequel is titled The man who died twice. I hope you get through a lot of these books Heather- happy reading!. I'm tossing up whether or not to get The Nightingale but I know if I read a sad book right now I will turn into a bawling mess.

I laughed when you talked about robots. It was cute.

I have a love hate relationship with Where the Crawdads Sings. The description of the environment was amazing, the dialogue not so much. Serious books effect me as well, but I didn't find this one bad.

The last thing he told me wasn't great either. I have no idea how it did so well.

I really enjoyed Death on the Nile.

The Inheritance of Orquidia Divina was an adult fantasy that I absolutely loved! It was really unique and different then anything I've read before, but a very entertaining and captivating story!
