When my first gf broke up with me, I was devastated . it came out of the blue and there was deception on her part. There was no contact between us . It took 8 months to me to recover. I never looked back or thought about her after 8 months even though I was not dating . I kept busy studying, exercising . She tried to reconcile with me after 2 years but I shut her down completely even though i was not even dating anyone. It was not easy getting over her but once I did I never looked back . I guess it was easier to let go becos she acted like a total bitch when she broke up with me and she was dishonest about things while we were dating which led to the break up.
