People are facing a tough retirement. and it's even harder for workers to save due to low-paying jobs, inflation, and high rents. Now, middle-class Americans find it tough to own a home too, leaving them without a place to retire in.

What drives me nuts is companies listing many jobs that are really not jobs. They won't hire anyone for the position or even interview someone, but they try to show job openings to show growth.

State Farm can pay millions for Super Bowl commercials and sport celebrity endorsements but will cancel your insurance.

one day in the late 1970's equity dried up, inflation was high, jobs dried up, etc. this reminds me of that time.

Tipping is becoming ridiculous, everyone and their brother now expects large tip. Unbelievable.

I went to get my oil changed in my car mechanic wanted over 100 bucks to do the job. Everything has gone to extremes and it’s insanity!

The first scene with the flowers reminded me of the poppie field shot in "The Wizard of Oz". Beautiful. Thanks Dan.

Thanks for the content, Dan. I'm a 68 year old electrician that was retired. Wages for electricians has sky rocketed so I went back to work and making great money. Twice as much money as I was making just a couple of years ago. I'm not having any trouble finding work but I know that will end soon. I've been doing this for almost 50 years and I know it when I see the writing on the wall. I live in Texas and builders are still building houses. How can people afford it? I think when the shit hits the fan, its going to be a shit storm like we've never seen. Walmart is spending billions on there new corp. training facility in Arkansas. I don't know how even ?Walmart can afford the money they are spending on building for training. Then all the tech companies spending billions on the data centers all over the country. I guess the government is paying for most of them for the upcoming invisible money we will be using soon. Why else are they putting these buildings up all over the country? Its getting scary!

I was in Bentonville Arkansas and wanted some vietnamese food. Two of us went to the resturant and it cost $70 for 2 of us. $70 for two people to eat lunch.

Dan, you are correct about the job market. It is horrible. My son has been looking for work since June 2023. We know a number of people who have family or friends over here on the east coast that cannot find work. It is very difficult and frustrating. We keep hearing several hundred jobs have been added to the economy - like where? Unemployment is down - bologna. Look at the big companies that are letting employees go, businesses closing as well as restaurants. I see it daily. Mmmm! Our nation is on a downward decline and I believe it will not get any better.

I'm right by the flower fields at Legoland right now. My teen daughter is here for a job fair. She texted me saying I'm not going to get a job there are a bunch of moms here! Adults are now taking all of the "teen, " jobs.

Even the home depot parking lots have a couple of hundred day laborers standing around, smoking and looking at their cell phones, at selected HDs in NJ. Not enough day work? In spring? Sure sign of a slow down..

Not tipping anymore. I'm tired of employers using their customers. Pay your people or close your doors. Prices have gone through the roof as it is.

As a caregiver to the eldery, Dan is 100%. BUT, it goes BOTH WAYS. A woman I was live-in companion for for a year or so, I discovered, was being robbed by her kids. One was stealing her meds (yep, Opiods), and the other was clearing out her good jewelry, little by little. I told her brother, he came investigated and found what I said to be true. He and his wife basically conducted their own sting investigation, including video and audio recordings. Police, Social Services, her Kaiser doctor, service providers, and concerned neighbors all participated. You'd think that the situation got straightened out. You'd think. How could it not with all the evidence? Well, it didn't. The brother ended up being threatened, and I ended up with a TRO! Her kids bled her dry, moved her to a cheap accommodation. She deteriorated and is now in a crappy cheap care home. Criminals rule in CA. It is disgusting. I'm moving out of CA, have my stuff in storage, and am ready to go. It sucks right now to be a decent human being. 😪

Same thing happen to me when I graduated college in 2009. History repeats itself because the government can't seem to learn lessons.
