Apologist Karlo Broussard responds to a common atheist critique of the God of the Bible, that he is a narcissist whose ego makes him hungry for the worship of his creatures. Does the Bible really give us such a creepy Lord? And even if he is not creepy, why does he insist on worship?

I have always thought that we need to love God above all to help us not get overly attached to the things of this world and remain better focused on what brings us closer to Him.

From my research, it would seem the confusion comes with the word "LOVE". Modern day people have lost the understanding/meaning of love, hence the discussion. Maybe doing a show on "LOVE" AGAPE and the other kinds of love etc...

Wow!!! I am sooo blown away by this! This totally explains the "God hole" we all yearn to fill when we do not "fill" it with God and how and why humans can go toward addictions and dysfunctional behaviors when we do not "fill" it with God because in the end, deep down, we are not happy without God! No matter how man tries to fill that internal void with distractions, vanity, alcohol, drugs, etc, etc., they just don't truely make man happy and still something is missing but we pretend or are convinced by culture that, no it is not God that is missing. He wants us to worship him, not because HE needs us too but because WE need too for our own happiness!!! Furthermore, I now get why/how the 1st Commandment is list 1st as the most important!!!
