Since I know a lot of people might want to read more on the Windows 11 stuff I explained in the video, I've added a special section in the description box called "sources" so you can read up on it yourself.
And while you're at it, do check out Morning Brew, it's free!

*world-wide chip shortage*
windows: "can't run w11? just get a new cpu!"

Just stay on Windows 10, they eventually will let u upgrade if the install base is small enough

I mean, if Microsoft were looking to make this transition, this is a pretty miserable time to do so. Even old parts (like a GTX 1050) is more expensive than when the system launched, and I can say that my computer basically will need to be thrown out the window (GTX760, i7 4770, etc.)

5:52 The problem here is that Microsoft placed that line further than needed and that's what pissing everyone off. Slightly older CPU still support those security features but no one knows why Microsoft still decided to not support them. If only they communicated the exact reasons... But then again they are tech companies and tech companies don't like to communicate.

Microsoft wouldn't had put axe to their own foot if they hired TechAltar to explain things 😃😃

I wouldnt hold my breath for Microsoft to reduce the requirements, but we shall see. For myself, I am in no hurry to get Win 11 and will stay with Win 10. Time shall tell how this all plays out the end of this year. Thanks for the video.

For those saying for security and finally dropping legacy support.

It works perfectly fine on a 10 year old machine using a bypass, theres NO other reason except they want to make people buy new machines.

1:05 it's amazing how you are surprised by that price. That's a pretty common price for TWS earphones, at least here in India.

doesn't that make "morning brew" your competitor ?

Sometimes it feels like we dont actually need hair dryer and beard trimmer connected to the internet? Theyre simple appliance that just need to work with a on/off switch

Why can't Microsoft just _say_ the reason why slightly older processors are not supported? Letting people speculate is much worse.

What company do you think right now has the most potential to change the norms drastically?

For me it is Nvidia because of their ARM acquisition. ARM on windows is gaining some traction and microsoft would definitely want something to compete against M1 . Nvidia is already one for the best at windows graphics so maybe they might start selling SOC's with their own chip and graphics.

I don't know the legality of it tho

They now updated their requirements which doesnt mske any sense whatsoever but its got news for most people.
New minimum specs are
- Processor with frequency over 1GHz and at least 2 cores
- 4GB RAM
- At least 64GB disk space
- UEFI BIOS with at least TPM 2.0 Chip
- graphics card compatible with DirectX 12
- at least 720p screen resolution

Seems pretty reasonable

96% of all PC's will not be able to meet all the requirements. So a majority of the machines on the planet (Approximately 960 million machines give or take) are left behind.

The thing with security systems is that they can be disabled or enabled just like you currently can on Windows 10, Microsoft is clearly looking for ways to make money here otherwise they would have just enabled those security features on PCs that supported them (Making them just as safe as they would have been with enforced requirements anyway) and just send a warning message during install which notified you that "your PC wasn't supported" but still let you install Windows 11 anyway.

Windows 11 min spec is still a mess as far as I am concerned. From what I can tell MBEC is only zen2 supported (Ryzen 3xxx series), not zen+. Why the hell is zen+ on the supported list but not zen? E-Waste factory is gearing up. It is going to be silly to enforce this when we only have a few years of machines able to run the OS.

It would have been way better if Microsoft had that virtualization in their requirements page instead of just of list of CPUs without an explanation.
