A 20 minute yin yoga practice for deep relaxation and a full body stretch with no props. Yin yoga helps stretch tight muscles AND it turns on your body's inner healing mechanisms for cellular repair and reduction of stress and inflammation. This practice gives you all those therapeutic benefits and will help you find a deep state of relaxation and rest.

We begin today's class with a variation of child's pose to help decompress the spine. Then we "thread the needle" for some upper back and shoulder stretching. Next we work into a variation of forward fold that helps to further decompress the spine and stretch the outside of the hips. And finally we come to our backs for happy baby and banana pose to further open the hips and side body.

This yoga practice is great for all fitness levels, including beginners, and for bodies of all shapes and sizes. Always listen to your body, take breaks whenever necessary, skip or modify any poses that feel unreasonable in your body, and most importantly HAVE FUN ;-)

I had a beautiful calming soundtrack to this practice, but somehow it disappeared when I uploaded 😕 I recommend playing some soft relaxing ambient music in the background (no lyrics) to help you relax. Turn the lights down low. Maybe some essential oils and candles. Treat yourself 🥰
