How to make the ULTIMATE Pro Cyclist | Pro Cycling Manager 2023

In this year's version of Pro Cycling Manager we have a new training system in Pro Cyclist Mode. The progression of your rider is tied to that training, but how does it affect your level ups? In a huge way! Let me show you in this video.

I did this little piece of PCM Science after recording the first 10 episodes of Dicky's journey... so he will not be quite as much of a powerhouse as this information would allow for. Please don't send more bacon bars to my door! ':D

This really looks powerfull. In pcm 22 i made a northern classics climber( i really recommend to look at his potential its insane, you can be 76 plus in every stat with 82 cobbles endurance and acceleration a real beast that can win everything) but still its not like the best rider in the game as there are people like pogacar but with this you can maybe be 78 in each stat with the northern classic climber. I m surely going to try this out

Okay after putting more hours into pro cyclist mode, I think I dislike the new progression system now. There are just so many things that can happen that will ruin the optimization for level-up. It's fun at the beginning since you're getting a massive boost to your abilities but as always the closer you are to your potential the fewer points you will accumulate.

1. Injuries - this messed my rider up, my rider has been injured 3 times so far. (around 5-7 weeks) per injury. You can use the "Healing" action to recover faster but still, this is not enough. Basically, you're gaining exp towards a level up but no progress in specific training, and each week you're not training, you lower the progression percentage. Your preparation is wrecked as well since you're not racing (really low like 59%) so you have to sacrifice some slots to place the "race specific action" to gain fitness again.

2. Massive exp boost due to milestones- you can suddenly gain massive exp, i.e. winning a race, so it will ruin the training optimization as well.

3. Training resets per season and if you want to have a well-rounded rider (which makes sense), you're going to have a hard time since the attributes that begin at 0% preparation takes a long time to get to 100%. This mode promotes having a pro cyclist with all-time great stats in one or two attributes but an amateur level in another attribute.

I think they need to scrap the exp progression system and just let your rider evolve naturally depending on training and rider specialization. Gain a massive attributes boost at the end of the season, and then give bonus attributes during the season depending on milestones and race preparation.

For those who are beginners, they haven't really changed a lot in pro cyclist mode so expect to have an attribute/potential level-up at levels 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 19, 22, 25, 28, 31, 34, 37, so 17 level-ups in total. In previous versions, you don't want to increase potential too much since you won't be achieving it due to a limited amount of level-ups. What I do during those times was to increase 1 potential then 16 attributes increases to have an elite rider in his specialization but still be a well-rounded one. I haven't played PCM 2023 a lot but my initial thoughts would be to follow this method as well. If I can optimize my rider progression better maybe I can increase another potential as well but as I've said in this comment, optimization for this year's version is difficult due to unpredictability.

Nice video ! :) there’s a pretty big issue with the 74 max potential for endurance/stamina. I’m in 4the season and have like 85 big, 83 mid, … but with the 74 stamina there’s no chance for a GT victory

So in esscence, if you waste a year training and auto running races (because obviously you will be too tired to race) you should be able to get most of the secondarys to were you want aswell? or am is it only the 3/4 main base target stats?

Hey thanks for the vid! I got a question, who does the tiredness exactly do? My cyclist already has ~70% tiredness but it does not seem to do anything, fitness before the races is fine

What should your main and secondary axis be if you want to make the ultimate pro cyclist that can win all monuments (and WC) during his career?

Hi, Love your video's! I have a question tho. I'm looking to create a rider that can win the Grand Tours but also all classics. Bit like Pogacar Really. What would you reccomend to start with and how to train?

I was play pro cyclist mode i want make my character can race on cobble and mountain. But after progressing i got lvl max at 37 so it cant improve my attribute anymore 😢. I think best way to play pro cyclis mode just fokus on 3-4 stats so it can be effective to improve ur character.

Hi Killrob, really interesting content. Do you have any advice on what's a good distribution among choosing for upgrading potential or just progessing.

I want to make a game where my ultimate goal is to win all the monuments (Milan Sanremo, Paris Roubaix, Vlaanderen, Liege/Luik and Lombardia). Therefor I need to be great at punching, cobbles but also climbing (and obviously great END skills). Any suggestions?

This looks pretty strong, but how do we fit Peak performance in all of this? Are peak performance worth with that kind of strategy?

I prefer PCM 22's system because I can round him (Barodeur/Northern Classics) out much earlier and work on his time trials by the beginning of season 2. This year I have no chance upping his sprinting as a Time Trialist/Stage Racer in just 8 months.

for a person who hates super details sometimes, you shouldve made a different video of your experiments then a seperate video of training schemes of each type specialties
