In an attempt to find literally anything wrong with this burger, I’ve landed on you putting slightly too little spicy mayo on it. There’s still room to perfect this masterpiece.

How to make burger

Ingredients:

For the patties:
1 lb ground beef (80% lean for juicy burgers)
Salt and pepper to taste
For the burgers:
Burger buns
Lettuce
Tomato, sliced
Onion, sliced
Cheese (optional, e.g., cheddar or American)
Condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise)
Instructions:

Prepare the Patties:
Gently shape the ground beef into 4 equal patties, about ¾ inch thick.
Season both sides with salt and pepper.
Make a small indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to help them cook evenly.
Cook the Patties:
Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or adjust the time to your desired doneness.
If adding cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking and cover to melt.
Toast the Buns:
Lightly butter the cut sides of the buns.
Toast them on the grill or skillet until golden brown.
Assemble the Burgers:
Place the cooked patties on the bottom buns.
Add lettuce, tomato, onion, and any other desired toppings.
Spread condiments on the top buns and place them on the burgers.
Serve:
Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes

For a smashed patty, the end result doesn't seem very smashed, that's my only gripe. I love it when they're super thin and gets a nice crust, then compensating for the thickness by adding multiple patties.
