Excellent. Very helpful, relevant first-hand review. Refreshing compared to all the generic stuff you see online!

You should compare edger vs edger. I have both brands and prefer Echo

One question I had was about the ECHO speed feed head. The amount of line it holds is about 20ft. vs. 33ft. for the STIHL. Since you are using the trimmer as a commercial tool, does the speed feed really help that much if you change it three times compared to two changes for the STIHL (equivalent 60ft. of line)? I always hate running out of line and 20ft. seems a little short.

What made you swap out the head on the Stihl?

I'm also curious about power. I believe the ECHO is smaller cc but rpm is higher. Why won't ECHO publish the horsepower rating in the manual specs?

If you’d had compared edger to edger you’d realize the Stihl edger has an even crappier handle position.

Both brands are great. However, I prefer an Edge string trimmer over Stihl because I can run at variable speeds to fine tune my work where as the Stihl seems to have to run at full speed or one speed. Other than that I like Stihl Edgers better and I like the start up process on Stihl products better. Chainsaws and hedge trimmers go to Stihl for sure. I think I like Edge blowers just a bit better.
I like both companies. I could go on forever about it so I’ll leave it at that.
Cool vid!

Had echo for years, from homeowner to commercial units, bought a fs56 a couple years ago....ehh.the fs56 is an easy start using a spring assist pull cord, nothing to do with compression. Blade is way to short on edger and should have been replaced long ago.

Echo is fine for a homeowner with a small to medium property. The 56 will put in work. It has the muscle to clear properties

Bit of a slap in the face putting an echo head on a stihl trimmer try a c25-2 orc26-2 head loads the same as echo

I don't like the echo for edging it lax power for edging in new lawns but for maintaining them it's OK but like you said when it gets wet it bogs . I wish they made it in 50 CC or something needs more power. It's wimpy .

*Good trimmer, 🌱 **allabout.wiki/Echo** I string my own line onto spool to save money and this trimmer seems to use less line than my former trimmer...does the job except for super thick St. Augustine runners on curb. Would love a shoulder strap so that I would have to use less arm strength to hold upright with my disability.*
