I want to end life like my great uncle and great aunt. They died when they were 99. They could still walk, cook for themselves, garden, take care of their house, look after themselves and each other, have normal conversations with people etc. My great uncle was a résistant and was made prisonner in a concentration camp for 2 years. I guess, after living through so much pain, he viewed everything as a blessing. I remember him always being calm, kind and thankful for everything. They enjoyed simple things like a home cooked meal with vegetables from their garden with family. They still held hands when walking.
The only thing they kind of lost in their old days were hearing for my great uncle and sight for my great aunt. They didn't completely lost them but they were impaired. It was heartwarming to see my great uncle help my great aunt see some things, and my great aunt help him hear stuff he couldn't. They completed each other. I want that for my husband and me. ❤

I’m 38 and had my first child last year. Never in my 38yrs of life have I thought about aging. Here I am obsessing about this topic. Crazy how literally everything changes once you have your first kid.

I would argue at least 95% of determining factors are:
1. Sleep (8 hours but you may need more)
2. Exercise (3 times per week)
3. Nutrition (Eat well most of the time)
4. Stress Management (Balance between work and rest)

If you manage to keep these 4 factors under bay you will most certainly have a great life, doesn't have to be so complicated.

I had a c- section when I was 29. The pain and recovery was horrible. I decided that I will do everything I can to never have to go through surgery or that kind of pain again. About 9 months after having my child, I had severe lower back pain and OTC pain killers didn’t work. I went to an orthopedic doctor. I was told at some point in my life I had fractured my L5. He went on to say when the pain gets bad enough, we’ll do surgery. I was like he11 no. I began yoga and have continued the practice my entire life, along with biking, kickboxing, walking and weight training. I’m now pushing 62 and for the most part have been pain free. As a single mother and a dead beat dad, and no family to help. I knew I had to stay healthy as there was no one that could raise my child but me. I have focused on being healthy as possible from that time forward. I’ve always known when I reached my 80’s I wanted to still practice yoga, ride my bike, walk with out wobbling or using a walker. It’s good to look ahead because what you do in your 30s, 40s and 50s plays a huge part of how you will be in your 60s +.

You don't get to be successful without risk. Investing grows your money quicker than anything. you can't work that many jobs to keep earning money. you gotta have some money sitting somewhere that's working for you. your job is to work to make the money and then you gotta get your money to work for you. I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life...

OMG I am 80. Still having sex and walking my 3 dogs at least a mile and they each weigh 17lbs. Take no meds but am about 30lbs overweight. I never thought I'd live this long and never thought about it when I was young. Still am able to dance for about 30minutes and love disco. Do take vitamins. Have stenosis of the back. Had a hip replacement about 15years ago. So guess I am one of the luck ones.

Tibetan saying for living a long-life: _"Eat half, walk double, laugh triple."_ It's clever, but it hits many of the wickets of metabolic-management, cardiovascular-management, and finally mental-health and/or stress-management.

I have developed my life plan so that I will live to over 100 without decease or taking drugs. My vision is that I will be able to walk over mountains in my 90s. My mental health goal is that through Buddhism I find wisdom through peace, calm and compassion. I use mindfulness 40 different ways to link my long term goals with my day to day tactics which include meditation, journaling, one low carb meal a day and no alcohol. This helped me to walk 1200 miles over 3 months unsupported when I retired at 70 years of age

I am 45 and love content like this. My question is, what did you do today? Live your life to the fullest and stay active. Then...when you expire, you can do so with a smile! Viva la resistance!

At 3:39, Dr. Attia’s foot bounces when he mentions walking a golden retriever. The feet are one of the most “honest” parts of the body because they’re far away from the parts we consciously mask in public. So that excited bounce was possibly an involuntary signal sent by his limbic system as a result of happy feelings caused by thinking about walking a dog.

With all respect to you guys talking in regards to health - longevità.
What would be' more interesting is talking to someone that is old, very active and healty in order to see how they have achieved this.
I am 78 6 feet tall 168 lbs no health issues of any kind.
I road bike 7/8 thousand km yearly including 7/10% plus hills.I run 10km, gym, swim on weekly base.Once in a while i partecipate in Triathlon.
You should talk to people like me in order to find out all the things they do daily, what they eat, sleep etc.etc.
