Severe stress can be deadly, mentally, and physically.

Longevity without youth is torture. I worked at a retirement homes for years and watched the elderly dealing on a daily bases with the many plagues that attack their body. When you suffer with a painful debilitating problem for years death could be a friend.

ONE of the BIG secrets to Living Longer is the 'no stress' philosophy. She had no stress never having to go out to earn a living doing a job she hates, hence why her life was so durable. She ate chocolate, cakes and wine like Marie Antoinette so had nothing to worry about since she had a wealthy father who supported her and then married rich.
LIFESTYLE IS KEY.!!!
So, no work, no stress, just an idyllic existence waking up when she wanted to, playing tennis & putting on her roller skates..!!! Her thinking was: 'I'm going to do anything that I want to do because I don't have to work for a living.!!!🙂
LIFE STYLE IS KEY . . . . . . . And T H A T I think is the big secret.

Jeanne is written about in Real Estate classes, when she was 70 she sold her Paris apartment as a "life Estate", that's where you sell, and can live in the apartment until you die, the buyer noted 70 yrs old, a smoker, good deal, right? Ended up the buyer died first, and his daughter had to make payments on the apartments until Jeanne died.

Imagine living that long and seeing all your loved ones die before you and you attend all their funerals. Sad really....

I was 5 years old when she died. It's incredible to know that there were people from the 19th century, the Victorian era, who were still alive by the time I was born in 1991.

Ouh...but having a wealthy father does not mean he would be a good father. And having a wealthy husband does not mean he would be good to her. Apparently she had both conditions met with the two main people in her life. Still thou, nursing homes are cold, detached, cruel, and very sad. We should all have good people around us and no one should be abandoned in their old age, or ever. It is a strange world.

Important to note that longevity is down to a number of factors, but diet is by far the most important. Scientists have estimated that 125 is the absolute maximum possible for a human to live before cell and mitochondrial division will lead to DNA expiry. I believe someone in the near future will live to 120 but it will be a long time before anyone eclipses Jeanne's record. Kane Tanaka died last year at 119y 107 days, that is still over three years short of Jeanne's life at 122y 164 days. Incredible!.
