Having good emotional health like being calm and having inner peace is really needed for longevity. You can eat healthy and exercise, but if you are constantly stressed, it will affect your health, and you will shorten your lifespan. Being in a calm environment and having calming energies in your circle is very important, and I think it will help you live a live long life along with other factors like genetics, diet, etc.

So true. Life is about cultivating experiences that enrich your life and those around you.

Gosh I pray that I will always have the will to choose joy over all obstacles that come my way. I see many specialized doctors and each comment something similar to "I know you live in pain and every day is a new challenge but I've never met anyone with such positive attitude, always smiling and always polite". I sometimes project how I want to be seen and that is someone with no pain! but that's not my life and I choose to see life as a glass half full because the alternative will age me a lot quicker and the physical pain, inflammation, will be that much greater. Sadness comes but I'll be damned if I let it control me. Working out has been a tool, that for 7 yrs, I forgot I had. Excruciating pain for past two days but I kept moving without making things worst. Called these REST days and today I was able to strength train legs with no lower back spasms. Mind over matter (not always!)

Yes, the software can be re-written but only once you see that this is possible.. if you have no examples growing up or sufficient guidance life seems to happen to you without you having anything to say about it which obviously keeps you trapped in helplessness till the point you become aware that you have a say in the matter, nobody chooses to be ignorant 🙏❤️

Most people are not miserable, lonely and angry and their problems are circumscribed, so that they don't interfere with, or not too much, with their daily functioning. And, yes, we can always make changes in our thinking to make ourselves happier. So mental health is very important. But not as important as diet and exercise, both of which can positively impact our mental health and our physical health at the same time. And this is the key point- we can change diet and exercise patterns very quickly with an instant impact on our health. Psychological problems can take a long time to correct.

If the internal condition is stable, the external conditions are much more trivial.

I would rather live a happy fulfilled satisfied life for a short lifespan rather than living 90+ years with a miserable lonely life.

"Potentially more important?" Quite a revelation from a scientist and a practitioner. He goes deeper into this in "Outlive." I truly appreciate Dr. Attia's contributions to our "health conversation" and his evangelism around Medicine 3.0.

True! The question is when your life is spiraling out of your control whether it be from back luck or happenstance hard times are a part of life and if you don’t have the Monetary resources it can shake your confidence and taxing your mental toughness to the breaking point of doom and gloom where to you even start to heal while your still sinking in a pool of quick sand without a soul in sight or a branch to grab on to that is a vexing question I would love to her the answer that would remedy that scenario?
