Mrs Crawley NEVER made a room for rituals, it was simply a bible room.

We spent the night and the owners are lovely.

If you stay ( Well when we did ) the cost included 3 course home cooked beautiful meal. Small educational chat and a tour, accommodation plus breakfast. Then after breakfast we were allowed to walk around the home without tour guides.

Tip - Our nation's capital is pronounced Can-bra. Also, while Port Arthur is historically tragic, for outright spooky, pop up the road to visit Woolmers Estate. Don't doubt what you think you see.

I used to have to visit Beechworth Asylum to work on the medical equipment. The place has a eerie vibe. And with Port Arthur, the paradox there is the general area it's in is absolutely beautiful.

Number 1 is not called Devils pond it's Devils Pool. I have swam there multiple times, being a local and having grown up there. But you have to jump off a very high rock (which is barracaded and forbidden). It's so high that when/if you scream you need to take another breath of air before your body hits the water. Then you swim through a small tunnel and will reach the 'washing machine" whirlpool and swim to the river bank. It was always Men that died there, until recent years when a female life was 'claimed' by the ghost...

I've been to Beechworth asylum once and Monte Cristo several times, I would go again. I have lived in several haunted houses so it doesn't bother me.

I'm an Australian and have never been to any of these haunted places in my 61 years and I would never pay a whopping $200 to stay one night in the most haunted house in Australia, Monte Cristo, I'm not that silly lol. Pretty sure it got torched down a few years ago but the abandoned orphanage in Goulburn, NSW is pretty crazy, lots of stories and a few sightings in the lower levels

In germany we call this (no 5) Weißwasser. It's just water with too much oxygen because of the streams so you just drown in it and can't swim on the surface
