Today I learnt I’m absolutely useless at parrying

Damn I saw all the try parrying messages and just assumed they were trolling.

Golden Parry and Carian Retaliation on Medium shield has better time frame than buckler parry. These 2 ashes give you more room these POS mob. Good luck, Tanished!

After an hour of trying to parry, the hold block trick worked on the first try. Thank you!

Thank you. This made things way easier.

It worked like a charm.

It took me a couple tries to hold block and then timing the parry when the enemy tried to use a grab attack.

Thank you

THAT Hold block and then parry, BOOM!!!! LVL 1 could do it now, I can't believe I died so many times trying different timing. THANK YOU!!!!

You can sneak arround the first one! Second and thrid can be tricked by sneaking through a golen flower which makes bling sound and attracts them, just keep on sneaking and they dont find you!

Thank you thank you thank you!! I’ve been trying to parry him for so long and watched other vids and I thought I was parring at the right time but nothing worked. But your tip to hold up your shield first with L1 before hitting L2 worked like a charm! 😊

You are a savior,
Make sure you utilize that parry the moment they start their wand animation, using the buckler shield parry for this makes this a perfectly timed parry.

I don't know the mechanics... but just FYI out there... it's not necessarily an instant kill, at least on new game with most blessings.
It's a lot less hassle/risk to parry kill them (or just run past them without bothering with stealth) if they don't instant kill you. You can just double heal and keep going or try another parry.

Equip the anti-madness talismans so it doesn't proc madness during the main attack but is then out of sync and just procs while in their presence. And max life talisman.
This gives you like 4-5 tries to get the parry before being sent back. Most of these are right by a stake so it's not a huuuge deal, but I think it's much easier to learn the parry timing if you don't have 30-60 seconds or whatever between attempts. You just back up, double "estus" and try again.

I couldn't, until I took off my armor and lost my fear of them, I was left naked, with only the shield and a spear, I killed everyone, the one that came out in the fog I killed the first time, two parrys to kill each one
