Dark Souls 2 - How to Beat The Burnt Ivory King

Defeating the Burnt Ivory King boss in Crown of the Ivory King DLC.

I hate these fights that include minions. This fight is very tedious.

Even with 4 knights by my side all the enemies aggro on me and ignore them, seriously thats so annoying fighting one of them if you constantly get shoot by fireballs, and getting interuppted by the other ones pocke attacks.

For those who have the portal open when he comes out stand by it till it freezes and he’s by it causing a instakill

Or if your lucky, like me, you can get him to aggro on one of the Loyce Knights attempting to freeze the spawner. If the Burnt Ivory King keeps aggroing the Loyce Knight attempting to freeze the portal, he can be caught in the frozen animation of the knight, he will instantly die.

I don't fucking care if people don't like this boss. I absolutely loved it. The knight dudes who when rescued will fight on your side, that badass entrance of the Ivory King, and the perfect hellish arena. I hated the bosses of other DLCs, but this one blew my mind.

Glad I know to freeze the portals now. I bet my sunbros were pissed . There's always a catch

F*ck this boss. Fume Knight was hard, but Ivory King is glitchy as hell. His impale gets me wherever the f*ck I am. I rolled about two metres to the side from where he finished his charge, and still got "teleported" onto his sword. Another time I rolled behind his right shoulder, and was moved to his sword again. From BEHIND him! It's not that I'm slow. When the game needs to "move" my character to be in position for the hit, it is f*cking bullsh*t. And it's not lag. I bet he could impale me if I was in Things Betwixt.

Killed him on the first attempt thanks to the guide. Got to say that this is probably the most creative boss fight so far.

Lol I entered the boss fight right after it was unlocked, it took me around 5 minutes to learn that I needed more knights, after that it wasn't that hard :). Never found the third knight though :/

Don't get the DLC hate. The content is much better than in the main game.

Ngl this was pretty hard even with Four Knights. Didn't give a lot of room to heal without getting fire thrown at your or getting stabbed. The freezing of the gates didn't seem like it was on a timer. I had two knights and one portal open at the end of my fight.
Then i discovered two summons and luckily a real person summon and then beat it haha.

This DLC was so good. The co-op area was pretty bad though

How to get the knights: Explore. They are not hidden or anything, you just have to beat the level properly.

i went down with smelter hammer + 10 along with lightning buff it works like a charm for me mega stagger for the burnt knights i also have 100% fire resist i pound them to a pulp when ivory king comes through i rebuff but i like my defence its high

You could get the gates open when the king is spawned so that you can freeze him over with one of the gates
