Can’t beat a good mora knife. The price tag is not at all an indicator of the quality of those little tanks. Everybody should own one, frankly

The Mora is a very good knife, I have used it in extremely bad conditions, and it has held up.
Its edge is a little tricky to sharpen, but for cutting hard, it behaves very well!
It is an ideal knife for young buchcraft beginners.
inexpensive, strong, sharp, but above all which maintains an excellent grip in all situations.

There are some great options here. The Kershaw Clash was my first single bladed knife. It served me well through 5 or so years of Boy Scouts before upgrading to a Damascus Kershaw Shallot (I wish they’d bring that one back). That was all a lot my time ago though. The Mora 511 is one of my more recent favorites. I’m always switching back and forth between my 511 and my White River Hunter as my go-to fixed blades, and those are pretty far apart in price to be so similarly practical.

Cannot say ENOUGH great things about Kershaw speed safe/ Ken Onion blades. Have about 5 in E.D.C."collection" and thoroughly enjoy ALL of them and have been known to give others away as gifts. As of late Gerber has caught my eye as well as other O.T.F./ shark lock knives.
