For apsc or crop sensor a 35mm will be more suitable

I own the 35mm 1.4 GM and the 85mm 1.4 DG DN. BUT - I also have the 55mm 1.8 and I love this lens. It can do so much. Beautiful Bokeh - check. Few steps back, F-Stop down and you have multiple people in Focus.

One of my pet peeves are YouTubers telling everyone to get a 50mm and not mentioning crop sensors need a different focal length. I bought a 50mm for my aps-c camera when i started photography because none of the thousand of videos i watched cared enough to educate their viewers. Even when their videos are about giving photography tips.

Crop sensor users should get a 35mm lens to get the 50 mm look. theres a 1.5x magnification due to the crop sensor size. Micro 4/3 has its own magnification as well

I have that Sony Zeiss 55, and it's a nice one, for sure. It was ridiculously expensive when it first came out, but much better now that it's in the $500 range

If used on an apsc cam it's more like 75mm. Super zoomed in.
