A few tips for those who aren’t used to putting in contacts: 1: Practice. It’s really daunting to get rid of the natural reflex to close your eye when something gets close, and blinking really messes up the processing of putting a contact in. You’ll probably have to spend some time getting used to it or practicing to lose the reflex. 2: Make sure the contact is soaked, but not forming droplets or dripping, too wet won’t stick and will slip off and too dry will irritate your eye. You can always add droplets after they’re in, and carry a small bottle in your pocket if your eyes are prone to dryness. 3: Make sure your contacts is not “inside out”. Look at it from the side, if your contact looks perfectly concave, you’re good to go, but if it looks flat on the edges with a bump in the middle, reverse it, because that won’t stick properly and will irritate your eye and get pushed around when you blink (not fun). 4: Just use your finger (wash you hands first), it’s easier and the bigger surface area of your finger makes it easier to avoid forming air bubbles. 5: After the lens is on, don’t immediately pull your finger off. Take a second to adjust it and pull it into position. Sometimes you can blink a lot to fix it after you’ve put it in, but sometimes it just gets moved around or gets folded on your eye, forcing you to fish it out and try again (also not fun). 6: removal just requires a light pinch, the suction will come lose easily, just make your you don’t lose it. I hope some of these tips help someone who may be struggling to get lenses in!
