I totally agree. I had gotten so much flack when I chose the 24-70mm f/2.8 when I was building up my lenses. 12 lenses later and the 24-70mm is still my most often used lens. It hits the spot so many times on so many different shoots!

Would love to see what order someone should buy lenses as I am new to this.

Very Helpful! I’d for sure like to see your “order” of lens you recommend to purchase, sounds like a fun and informative video. PS: I also really liked how you explained what you use each focal range for with sample images.

You have a good point there. I never go above or below those focal lengths most of the time anyways.

HI!!! I have watched so many different video's for photography here on YouTube. I want you to know that hands down YOU ARE THE I (a hobbiest) can understand EVERYTHING you are trying to get across in an entertaining and educational way. You don't have nearly the likes on each of your video's you should. I am soooo critical (I guess in life) and your talents for teaching, entertaining and amazing photography in my opinion are a 10/10!!!! I will always come here to your channel first from now on to find what it is I want to learn and I will hold all others to the bar you have set for education on You Tube. Bravo, keep doing what you are doing. You truly are a pro!!! Looking forward to watching all your videos (over time lol). Thank You!!!!

Interested in the road map and particularly the difference between OEM manufactured lenses and Aftermarket lenses in terms of quality and versatility

And for APS-C shooters like me and our channel, the "kit" lens is usually this focal length equivalent. 18-55 gives you this range, and this versatility. While not having the F stop, or speed, of the 2.8, your kit lens will give you this range of shots. So don't sleep on your kit lens, especially for Fuji. Theirs is probably the best. Thanks David, see ya next week!!

My one lens would be the Sony 18-105, yes it only goes to F/4 (at least it's fixed) but it's a great all around lens IMO.

Good choice. Mine is close: 24-105 F4 L - a beast, great flexibility for focal lengths. L glass. 😊

I’d love to see a lens buying timeline... I could definitely use some advice. I want to switch to full frame really soon, and I’m not sure which would be the right first lens. I’m definitely more of a landscape/outdoor photographer. My initial thought would be the 16-35 f4 or the 24-105 f4. It feels like the 24-105 would be more versatile, but the 16-35 seems pretty essential for what I’m trying to do. Love your channel man 🤙

Great video! Yeah I really like to go out and shoot, and bring only one lens. As a Fuji shooter, I really like the 16-55 2.8 for that. Have it for a few days now, but really love it. If I could own only one lens, it would be between the 16-55 or the 23mm 1.4.

24mm f2.8. I am a wide angle shooter and a 24is a nice wide for full frame and a nice moderate wide for crop sensor.

Excellent tip. It is huge to move from the kit lens, usually an f4, to the 24-70 f2.8. For an walk around lens this is my favorite lens. The Nikon Z mount lens is super sharp and has a ton of range. Primes are the great for their singular mission they lack the versatility of a zoom. A zoom like this is a great option if you have only one lens in your kit.

I’ve just got back from the lakes in the U.K. and my video is live I did only have one lens with me due to travelling (canon 10-18) this is a great video again David loving the content man! Congrats again on the 100k
I set a goal for 100 total and I’m almost there :)

I saw that strong blue light (... i think it's 2 blue lights) on the background. Like it 👍!!! Great video as always and the road map to glass not a bad idea, actually I'll be very helpful for the one's like me who wants to get in this business!!! 👍
