I’m honestly ok with them sharing IP logs and metadata. As long as email content can’t be shared that’s good enough for me. Especially because emails between non proton users are already unencrypted (unless you use pgp) which in that case does not encrypt the sender, receiver, or subject line.

Whats the point? I mean.. seriously. I criticized Proton several times for doing a lot of PR like the "swiss data protection laws" where they make it look as if everything is super protected just by the fact their company is registered in Switzerland. But what options do they have? They are a legal business and they have to follow laws and court orders. Also those numbers you showed are a bit misleading. Makes it look as if they just handed out data in thousands of cases because they somehow wanted. Even if those numbers were 100k and above it would just show that they received that many requests from law enforcement. And once they get a legit court order, they have to follow. No matter if its 100, 1k or even 100k.

Note: An A.I generated newscaster is moving his
eyes as though he's reading from a teleprompter.

remember, they don't have IPs to give out anyhow so unless you tell somebody its you, those logs don't mean a lot.

They handed over information of subscribers that were doing nefarious things. If this video is truthful.
