Great review and I think you're spot on. I have both phones and both are excellent. But I enjoy using the Pixel 9 Pro XL more and that's the one I'd choose if I had to decide between them.

I purchased the 9 Pro XL as a fun phone and use Google's software for a few weeks before going back to my S24 Ultra. 2 weeks in, the S24 Ultra was just listed on Ebay. I am blown away by how amazing the Pixel is. From software optimization to an amazing accurate camera (S24Ultra always has a green warm hue to the pictures, and it drove me insane). Fingerprint scanner is so good, even though its same as S24U, it never fails thanks to the software opt. where the S24U for me would fail 30% of the time with a screen protector on. Facial Recognition is also much more secure with apps supporting it, where the Samsung didn't. Battery life is actually way better, and standby time is ridiculous. My S24U would just drain, especially after last 2 updates. Software optimization is really what it's all about, specs don't mean anything. I haven't had this much fun using a phone in over a decade, and that is saying a lot since I upgrade every 6 months as an enthusiast.

The pixel looks good and is the new kid on the block but it's hard to beat the s24 ultra.

when i compare the displays i can see clearly a difference! how you compared? Look at the white, which is bad on s24 u also viewing angles are bad on s24 u . "white" gets instantly blueish. when compare with a device like p9pro xl then its clearly noticable.

I love samaung's phone, but i need the camera on the pixel for my children who are running around and always in action. Samsung pictures are always blurry when i try to capture them. . So for now i am rolling with the pixel for now
