Tbh, the day to day use is so important. The scrolling alone on the iPhone just shows how smooth it really is… the micro micro seconds of delay builds up and having any sort of jitter while scrolling is a make or break

So close its not distinguishable. The key is the integrations. The reason why I am leaving for a Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is because the ecosystem I use most is Google services, not Apple. From YouTube to Search to Workspace to Gmail, etc - I simply use Google integration points more. Layer in Generatve AI and there just is too much. The Fold gives me rhe better advancements.

My daily driver is an iPhone 15 pro. I just picked up the pixel 9 pro XL and I have to say the pixel makes my iPhone feel slow the way it loads. Things seem snappier and more fluid. The display definitely looks better and web browsing seems to be a lot faster on the pixel. I'm not sure if it's because my iPhone is a year old and gets used on The daily and the pixel is so new, but I am definitely considering moving my main Sim into the pixel after using it for about 3 days.

There is no significant difference in stability when scrolling at high speeds between Twitter for iOS and Twitter for Android, but I think there is a difference in stability when scrolling starts from a stopped state（6:32）（7:13), so it would be interesting to add it to a scrolling test. (Scrolling processing tends to be more demanding when starting to move from a stopped state.)

Also, oxygen os and hyper os achieve scrolling speed and stability like iOS by lowering the scrolling speed from stock Android. By lowering the scrolling speed, the load on the SOC is reduced, preventing frame drops, reducing stuttering, suppressing blurring of characters, and providing a smoother experience, so it might be interesting to add it to a scrolling test.

This isn't an apples-to-apples comparison- the iOS version of an app could be better than the Android version from a performance perspective or vice versa.

A lot more expensive than corresponding Android alternatives.
No charger in the box, and charging isn't particularly fast.

Apple's iOS restrictions can be off-putting to newcomers to the ecosystem.
The GPU throttles down to 50% of its max performance under load.
The photo processing could benefit from less sharpening at times.
Rear glass is reportedly much more shatter-prone than before
Pixel 9 Pro XL :
Battery life is behind the competition.
Camera hardware could use an upgrade - you can only do so much with AI.
Video quality not up to scratch.

Contrary to popular belief, the Google pixel 9 pro XL that I've been using has completely replaced my iPhone 15 pro Max. I just wanted to test it and regrettably it was running so good that it has now become my daily driver and I'm in the process of selling my iPhone 15 pro Max. I know on tech reviews you're going to see speed test that the iPhone wins but I couldn't tell that one phone was faster than the other on a day-to-day use. The battery life was also surprisingly as good as my iPhone 15 pro Max lasting all day but just using the phone as a phone. It actually surpassed the iPhone 15 pro Max with some specific features. The only problem that I have with all these phones is us that the prices are just too goddamn high 😂😂

Hey Nick, how about charging both the photos to 100% before begining the test right from boot up and at the end see which one was more efficient? Leave auto brightness on or tune it to similar brightness

Amazing Nick! After the S24 ultra, can you also do a speed test comparison with the S23 ultra? I noticed the Geekbench scores on the Pixel 9 pro XL is not even up to the S23 ultra which is disappointing. Anyways I'm just curious 😅
