Google Pixel 9 Pro XL Review | Bigger, But Not Better?

Reviewing Google's Pixel 9 Pro XL, a 6.8-inch smartphone boasting AI-powered camera tech and everyday experiences. I've been testing the Pixel 9 Pro XL as my full-time phone so here's my thoughts on the gaming abilities, battery life, Gemini shenanigans etc.

While the camera hardware hasn't changed much, Google has at least thrown some new features into this blower's repertoire. This includes the helpful Add Me, improved Video Boost processing and some framing help. The Pixel 9 Pro XL also serves up Gemini Live (for a year), Screenshots and loads of excellent AI tools.

Battery life is excellent, among the best of any phone in 2024. And the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL can also stand as tall as its rivals for the media chops. However, gaming on Wuthering Waves isn't as smooth as the S24 Ultra and other Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobiles.

I absolutely loved the Mate 20 x, 7.2 inches, and missed it when I changed to a Pixel 7 pro. The P9 Pro XL is a step closer to perfection.

Currently rocking an iPhone 12 Pro with 2/3 of the camera lenses cracked, back smashed and scratches all up the sides.

Would love to upgrade to one of these (that Hazel 🤤) but it's also kinda funny to see how shit I can get this thing to become. 84% battery health and I reckon I can hit 80% if I work hard at it.

There's a certain piece of mind in having absolutely no anxiety about dropping your phone or spotting a scratch/dent that wasn't there before.

Meh. Overly expensive for all models. I'd rather stick to the Samsung Galaxy A55. An all around solid, well balanced midranger, that offers a lot of these same features at a much lower price. No thanks.
