Google has improved so much in the last three years. Give it another one or two years and it will explode with new developments.

I don’t understand why people are saying the pixel 9 looks like the iPhone, ok the box shape, that’s it

I had a Pixel 3a and still have a 6a, had a Pixel Watch 2 as well that I now passed to my dad. I now have an iPhone 16 and Watch Series 10.

The reason to change was the Pixel Watch 2 was buggy in 2 key areas. GPS connectivity and alarm/bed time sync. The Pixel 6a signal issues wasn’t helping either.

I prefer Android over iOS, it’s more effortless to interact with. iOS is a more “gentle” OS with sounds and haptics, I love that, but you have to be more intentional using it, with gestures and other aspects.

Pixel Watch 3 didn’t seem to have improved GPS and Pixel 9 Tensor G4 didn’t give me much confidence of longevity over 4-5 years. There have been early QC issues as well on Pixel phones, more so than iPhones. When o bought my Pixel 6a I had to return it due to a pink line issue and my brother recently bought a Pixel 8 who had to return due to selfie camera issue. Pixel 9 had tilt zoom lens, phantom screen touches and video pan issues, etc.

On top of that, I have MacOS and my wife uses iPhone. While Google is not taking Chromebook seriously, not even releasing their own hardware.

Pixel Watch 3 is still not repairable and still only 3 years of updates.

Apple Watch Series 10 has been amazing. I’m loving how lightweight and thin it is even compared to the PW2. I’m loving the rings, gives me more motivation. And the alarm works as expected. With really cool and increasing vibration that always work.

I miss Pixel phone and Watch software simplicity. iOS and WatchOS is more bloated with software.

iOS Messages app is the buggiest piece of software I’ve experienced. Wonder why nobody talks about that.
- screen goes off when recording audio
- audio recording stuck on 00:00 3/10 times when activating it from the sound wave icon in the right of the text input
- syncing issues with messages
- you can’t drag voice messages to reply
- no search functionality
- and more

Google now needs to double down on SoC designing. They are on par in other areas like build quality, haptics, screen quality but video processing is still they need to master as it is a function of better SoC.

Pixel is better all around nobody cares about chip speeds only real world use. Pixel is complete right out of the box with all it's features.

I have the iPhone 16 pro, and the pixel 9 pro. I simply love the pixel more. I feel more "complete" having them both. BUT... that's just because I'm a tech guy and enjoy having both platforms as needed. The Pixel is my daily driver, while the iPhone is simply the housing for my secondary line (as needed). lol

Just wanted to share my experience with the iPhone 16 Pro. Unfortunately, it wasn't the right fit for me. I've decided to return it and stick with my Pixel. I appreciate the chance to try it out, but I've found that the Pixel better suits my needs. The only reason why I wanted to give it another chance was because
I wanted FaceTime and iMessage back. But it's not worth it. The still pics on the iPhone are okay but the ones from the Pixel are way better, with no need to edit or add the new style filters to it.

Android's benefits became clear to me almost immediately.

Time will tell for Pixel but i would say the gap between the two is as close as it has been since Pixel launched

I'm nearing the end of my Pixel 5's useful life and have never been more on the fence when it comes to switching to iPhone. I just wish either were smaller—I'm going to miss the Pixel 5's size no matter which way I go.

I would love to watch a 9to5Mac comparison of these too.

I am platform agnostic and can easily switch and use both platforms. However, what makes me stick with the Pixel is some of the features that they dont make a fuss about. Things like call screen, excellent spam detection is messages, phone features like Direct my Call, which helps navigate phone trees. Even just basic notification management. Android, specifically Pixels do thia excellently. notifications felt like a chore when I used iPhone, and sometimes i would find weeks old notifications juat hidden because Apple chooses to shove them away.

Talk about how much iPhone takes from Android
Everyone is just being lazy talking about the looks and never calling out apple for what they copy every year

I've lurked in the comment sections of these videos long enough to know people don't quite know what Google's aiming for. Samsung's Exynos SoC lineup never did Google any favours with regards to performance. However, I also don't believe that outright raw performance is what Google was going for from the go. With next year's TSMC SoC, the playing field will be levelled when pitted against Apple's Bionic lineup. I still doubt Google is going to go for over clocks but rather better more optimized NPU cores for AI performance refinements and enhancements as well as optimizing and improving its image processing pipeline. Sustained heavy gaming performance and other heavily demanding tasks won't be the focus, rather more optimizations and refinements to the overall user experience. Really excited to see the Pixel 10 lineup in all it's glory. I'm a huge fan of this hardware design and form factor across it's lineup as well and I think they should keep it the same for at least 2 more generations, for distinction and identity. #google#android

Doesn't Apple software lock the screen to 80hz? Also, why do we still talk about benchmarks when the pixel renders a 4k video faster than an iPhone 16????
