How to Fix Media Offline Error (Missing Files) in DaVinci Resolve 17

Media Offline is when your files went missing on your computer and DaVinci Resolve can't find them. In this video, I'll show how to show resolve that they still exist and restore the clips to the media pool and the timeline.

You'll probably get a lot of unhappy people here. This is a common bug with 17beta. I had thought you had a fix for the bug. This is thought to be bug with GPU decoding, Resolve loses 'connection' with gpu decode, so it thinks the file is no longer there as it can't be read. something like that

This was helpful, however, I have the media file missing message/icon but I haven't moved my files, they are in the folder DaVinci is pointing to and the formats are .mp4 and .mov. I am very confused why they still appear as missing and I'm stuck. I would appreciate any help.

you have no idea how much i love you. i had a 20 minute video i was editing as my last youtube video, i changed the file name and davinci couldnt find the assets cus of the changed name. i actually was so stressed i didnt know what to do and then i found your tut thank you so much man

Once again, U helped me out. I forgot I rearranged my folders and therefore my DaVinci file could not find the contents it needed so I got those RED screens when I opened the file. After redirecting as U show, my DaVinci file is all back together. Thanks again!

If you happened to rename your media, simply right click on media and select " relink proxy media" and select the media wherever you have it saved and it should solve the offline error

There is such an annoying bug in resolve that the links to the assets get broken for no reason, even when the files are in the same location. Fix is to relink the files even tho resolve should know where the files are.
