What I'm Eating to Heal My Gut

Symptom chasing and being dismissed/patronized/pill pushed by doctors is the best! Just kidding, it's pretty miserable! If you've ever dealt with chronic health issues - you know this. Getting to the root cause of chronic stuff and actually healing is not easy, but it's so worth it. Chronic health problems, especially autoimmune issues - can almost always be managed or even cured by addressing gut health. That's the topic of this video!

I'm using the Oschaslings Misty Mountains woven wrap in size 6 for the back carry in this video

Thank you SO much for talking about this. My six year old daughter has been on a gut healing journey for about a year now (she is autistic) and we've seen incredible improvements in her. Starting my journey too soon :) be blessed.

Steph! Omg! I started drinking kefir and what a difference! I drank 4 ounces to start and I had diarrhea for hours. This showed me how bad my gut really is! I am happy to report that I felt so much better even after one dose of it! I felt lighter, more energy and motivation! I’m now taking about 2 ounces a day and will gradually increase until I reach 8. I’ve got psoriasis, joint/muscle pain, fatigue, depression and brain fog. I’m working on eliminating anything that isn’t whole, real food. After one week, I’m feeling a difference already!❤️

I got a super bad Salmonella infection over 20 years ago. It almost took my life. I have been dealing with terrible gut health for years. I finally eliminated so many foods and have a strict plan and am doing amazing. It's been a long journey but I feel so much better.

I had a baby almost 4 months ago (exclusively breastfeeding) and I have stubborn weight, brain fog and joint pain, and my almost 2 year old went on antibiotics during an emergency situation and shortly after developed a nightshade and dairy intolerance. My new baby also can’t tolerate eggs or nightshades (my microbiome is clearly shot, and that’s why he’s struggling 😢) We’ll be switching to this for at least the next month to see how we can heal. I’m so thankful the Lord put you in my path so that we could learn about how to heal! Just read Super Gut, and I was nervous about all of his suggestions since I’m breastfeeding and also don’t want my toddler to have to deal with the die off symptoms as well, so I’m so glad you’re also PP and could speak into that as well. The Lord is moving through you. Thank you! ❤

Loving the traditional baby wrap on the back! Made me smile and think of the ancestors. Great video and tips. Very helpful!

I care deeply about you. I've been here, watching everything unfold, life has been overwhelming with Daniel's cancer, treatment, and care. Remember, you are always beautiful and enough, never ugly when you look in the mirror. I'm glad you're taking care of yourself, including your gut health. Avoiding wheat can be challenging, but you're doing a fantastic job. Your dedication in your conversations, teaching, and sharing your knowledge with all of us is truly commendable.

I am almost 2 weeks since eliminating grains and sugar, anything ultra-processed. Only because I listened to your experience in previous vlogs, and read what you wrote on instagram. I'm already seeing improvements! The daily bloating has decreased very-very much. Bloating is the main reason I turned to this elimination diet. My skin has cleared up, tiredness pimples are gone, I wake up easier in the morning. I used to wake up with pain all over my body and swollen fingers. I feel that the inflammation in my body has gone down, the excess water has gone down, I don't feel swollen anymore. I don't feel the crazy hunger I always used to have. As a bonus I've lost a little weight! I plan to continue like this for a while, and eventually slowly eliminate other things like starchy vegetables, seed oil. But so far, I can't believe how good I feel.

Great advice! What really helps me on carnivore/keto is adding 1 tsp unrefined salt like Redmonds every day. I added B-complex and B1 fat soluble form (benfotiamine) to support my nervous system because I started to have peripheral neuropathy. Within a few days most of the neuropathy resolved. There’s good bacteria in the gut that helps produce B vitamins and may be die off eating lots of red meat/zero to little carbs. Of course, this is just my experience. Definitely highlights importance of gut health though.

Not too long ago i broke out in tears. Ive been desperately trying to heal my leaky gut. Trying to educate myself, and figuring out a lot with trial and error. Well i guess i just had enough and my husband walked in on my crying, just tired of feeling pain or not myself in some form or another. Your videos and openness have been such a blessing. Everything started for me after having my last baby. Thank you so much! Truly truly thank you. Ive been off eggs, all dairy, etc for a while now and im missing my eggs and dairy. 😅 More so than sugar and carbs.

Thank you for this video. You provided so much great information 😊 At one time, my daughter was complaining about stomach pain. I started making her cabbage, potatoe, and bone broth soup. Thank God she no longer has pain. I totally agree that soups and teas are wonderful for the gut ☺️ God is so good, bless you and your family 😊

Thank you so much for this Steph. I am currently waiting for a biopsy outcome (I messaged you on IG video and you responded (thank you so much❤) but unfortunately I saw your reply to cancel the biopsy too late 😢) so this is where I am right now. I have had a dull headache and all over body pain all week. I believe I need to give this elimination diet a try. My diet right now is not very good. I eat a good bit of processed foods and eat out a lot. I’m running to get the book today and will get started with the making the yogurt to get started. Please keep me in prayer and I will pray for you and your family as well. ❤

I’m glad to hear you’re doing so many soups.
I have leaky gut, and was severely ill for many years.
I’ve been on the GAPS (gut and psychology syndrome, and gut and physiology syndrome) diet for 2 1/2 years now and I’m still slowly introducing foods I had eliminated.
You may be interested in Dr Natasha, Campbell McBride’s GAPS books. Many things you’re doing is what she recommends.
Meat stock - short cook time with raw bones, is the main healing element for your gut lining.
A lot of my auto immune conditions are completely gone, and even some of the negative symptoms that come along with autism, are much better as well.

You’re looking healthier and lovely in modern/feminine dresses. Well done to you Steph! Loved the way you said, ‘Granny will feed you soup’ 🤣.

Thank you for this video, Steph! It's a great reminder! I used to be GF and dairy free, and I used to feel so much stronger. Now, after having my second, the grains and processed foods in my diet need to be addressed again. I feel so much better eating whole foods. I can't always see how unwell I am untill I start eating differently.
Also, thanks for being straightforward about weight! It's easy to feel sensitive on that topic, but I love your honesty. You aren't restricting your food, just changing it for something healthier, so you can feel the best in yourself and for your family!
God bless!

I just found your channel. I love it.❤ I thought the same thing when it comes to healing the body with food, what would my great grandmother have done? indeed, they lived during a time when the food came from their garden, milk came from their own cows or goats, they often made their own butter, raise their own chickens, They cooked with lard and often times the old timers hunted or foraged for food. There’s a lot we can learn from the old ways😊❤ Great video!

I love that you are doing these video's. I am starting a gut healing journey and so is my daughter who is 10. We both have major gut issues. Now those issues have caused auto-immune issues in me as well. I am also cutting out toxins from our daily life.
